Moved into a house with the windows being 18 years old. Every window is rotted and needs to be replaced. All the windows need to be replaced already. Called Marvin and they gave me a sweet deal…. 5% discount on new ones. What a joke this company is. Looks like I’ll have to call renewal

We purchased 23 Marvin windows for our whole house. They were installed by Marvin’s contractors, Amazing siding here in Kansas City. Five of our windows have serious problems with the inside finish peeling off. See video below. These windows are guaranteed for the life of our house but Marvin will not fix them. They say it is the contractor’s problem. The contractor has gone out of business now. After a year of trying to come to some type of resolution, Marvin now wants an additional $5,000 to fix the five windows. Buyer beware. Marvin will only guarantee the mechanical mechanism, not the installation or the finish. Very disappointed after we thought we were buying a quality product which was very expensive.

My Marvin windows have been in a random pattern of rotting from the inside out since I built my house in 2003-2004. The rotting is caused by design and assembly defects which the company has been aware of for many years, and which have impacted a large number of people, who like me, thought they were paying top dollar for the best window in the industry. Because the rotting is from the inside out, it takes many years to become visible, and in my case the 10 year warranty Marvin is hiding behind was at hand when I discovered this issue with the help of a Marvin service employee. Marvin has made some attempts to help me with this damage about 4 years ago (on the edge of my 10 year warranty), but I continue to discover the rotting in some random pattern when I open a window that seemed fine last fall but now when I i open it the rotted wood simply falls onto the ledge. BTW white enamel windows seem to delay discovery as well, but when it is obvious it is obvious. Most recently I replaced a sash in January of 2019, and as you may have guessed I discovered two more sashes with rotted bottoms and corners yesterday. I will call the local lumber yard and order replacement sashes tomorrow (imagine the disgust one must feel being forced to buy a replacement from a company who promised you an exceptional window when they sold it, and now leaves you holding the bag on rotted wood and what appears to be an endless journey). If you were wondering I have never (NEVER) written a negative google review of a company before. Please feel free to check. I am so disgusted with Marvin (despite having met a few Marvin employees who at least seemed embarrassed and did what they could for me) that i decided I should at least warn others. So, at least you have been warned. My situation is further aggravated because I am not even sure replacing the sashes is fixing the problem. It may be that some or all of the defects are in the frame which I have not been replacing. In that case, I suppose over a period of years they will just rot again. Remember, windows that are properly built, installed, and maintained should NEVER rot from the inside out. Marvin does not deny the defective nature of its product. If you are planning to buy low end low budget windows and doors I guess Marvin probably can claim a place in that category and why not give them a shot with the other low end budget windows. But if you are buying and paying top dollar because you read the advertising Marvin uses, please don't believe in any claims they make about the quality of what they build, and definitely don't believe they will stand behind them. I am not a statistical outlier for customers who bought Marvin windows during this time period, and you will not be reading a response from Marvin in any of the sites I post this commentary where they will deny my claims. I have a portfolio of pictures.

Marvin has good windows and doors but AWFUL customer service. When they shut down their factory for covid, which is understandable, there was no communication about where our custom products were in the. process or on timing. Zero. And then vague sipping information. Now a big order shipped 15 days ago and is nowhere to be found, and they will not tell us where it is or when it might arrive! Refer us to our rep or the installer, who has no info about who the shipper is or where the truck is (at least 7 days overdue). They lost track of the truck and won't even get on the phone about it!! Buy elsewhere. Pella is good. Worth it to pay more elsewhere, you will save in construction costs.

My husband built our house in 2019 this is the first winter in our house and the windows are absolutely terrible. We have a brand new home and have to put extra seals and plastic on the windows. This is completely unacceptable for new windows. It took months for anyone to even come to look at the windows from the Marvin company and when they did they just shrugged their shoulders and said "yea they just aren't built very good are they". Wow. The product of these windows and the service is terrible. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
