Why are they showing a deceased dog on their page. Dr Catalina Montealegre euthanized my pet while he was in ICU knowingly I was taken him home in a few hours. This precious adorable little innocent pet did not deserve to be treated this way. At all times, they reported to me that his condition was stable.
We brought our cat after 2 regular vet visits and another ER vet due to lack of information and reading of X-rays by a non radiologist. Upon arrival we were met by an awesome nurse immediately and we're later told by doctor that she was in heart failure ????. We ended up putting her to sleep and donated her body. This ER is wonderful and would recommend them.
Penn Ryan Veterinary Hospital saved my dog’s life. After a few tough weeks of watching Ellie, our Golden Retriever, slowly get sicker without any avail from our local vet, we brought her to Penn. At Penn, her doctor, residents, and students (a full team) immediately made us feel like family. Ellie became this team’s priority, and, within two consecutive days, she probably had better medical care than I’ve received in a long time. Our family cannot than Dr. Steele & TEAM enough Ellie was in bad shape when we got there. But- the combination of dedicated people studied her symptoms, stayed with her, and took her through different specialists in the hospital. We were amazed when they laid out Ellie’s diagnosis and treatment plan that would start right away. We thought we wouldn’t hear positive news at all. Ellie had Cushing’s disease, which eventually turned into Addisons- but this was good news, because we could manage it and she could live happily and healthily with it. Ellie’s team worked with us to determine what food would work best, helped us tweak medicines every so often, and set up a schedule to run routine tests. Within a few weeks, it seemed like Ellie was never sick. Her fur looks even fluffier, she finishes every (and some of her sister’s) meal, and her energy is like that of a puppy. Not only were they dedicated to diagnosis and treatment (even answering emails at all hours of the night- thank you), but they also have a fully vested interest in follow up and monitoring success. THANK YOU PENN RYAN!!!
I've had a wonderful experience with Penn Vet from the E R visit through to testing. I have to give additional credit to Dr. Neil Mittelman!! He was amazingly thorough and kept me informed along the way, without making me feel as though he had limited time. He explained everything without me even having to ask questions. In the end, I received good news regarding Charlie. Thank you University of Penn Vet! You guys are truly amazing!! Charlie's new primary care provider will now be Penn Vet also! Thank you so much!!
So far the experience at Veterinary Hospital University Of Pennsylvania with injured canine (orthopaedic surgery) has been better by far than most adult human hospital scenarios. The Resident communicated extremely well with me/us and no long waits / rushed processes. Whatever systemic and human factors there are that make veterinary care this confidence-inspiring should be applied across the board to the U.S. (human) healthcare fiasco.
