I've worked with Matt for two different cases. I had a pending DUI charge in Olathe, in which the case looked pretty bad for me. However, Matt was able to convince the judge to not only keep my license with no restrictions or suspensions, but I was also granted diversion. Therefore I have the potential to not be charged with a DUI, given I complete diversion successfully. Luckily Matt had been encouraging through that process so far. Unfortunately I got myself into more trouble, and was arrested for domestic battery. Matt managed to have my charges for that case completely dismissed. I'm really thankful to have had an attorney that was so experienced, and was very cooperative with working with my busy schedule. Any lawyer is expensive, but Matt made this series of unfortunate events affordable for me and I'm confident in saying that with any other lawyer I'm not sure the results would've ended up in my favor. He wants the best outcome for his clients, and goes above and beyond to make that happen. I intend to stay out of trouble, but he'd be my go-to-attorney if need be. Wouldn't think twice. If you're looking to hire a defense lawyer to help prosecute you, Matt's your guy. I should've known something was odd when Matt wanted to postpone my arraignment for a "female" prosecutor. Believing she'd offer a better deal, I left feeling optimistic about my case. Well, she didn't. I now think she was likely a friend of some sorts of Matt's and I imagine that they work together for the betterment of the state.nnMatt used the cost of a trial to pressure me into taking her plea deal and ignored all of my counter offers. When I asked him to clarify the deal, Matt seemed annoyed at explaining. I had questions about the fees associated with the deal but Matt didn't know what they were and wasn't concerned with finding out. "Im sure it's not that much" he said. AND when I brought up the fact the officer lied, on video, (saying I gave him a false name and that being the basis of his actions towards me), Matt gave the impression that that was irrelevant. "What do you want do." he pressed on. nnBut it wasn't all bad with Matt. He did manage to get a portion of my bond back. Though the fees took a vast majority of it. I probably should've parted ways with Matt after a few meetings but having already paid him $500 and seeing how he waited for this female prosecutor, that didn't seem like the smart thing to do. nnI can tell for Matt it wasn't personal just business. nHe just forgot it was my life.
