I have personal experience being on both sides of the consumer scenario; I owed many collections law firms and also work for a collections firm. No one wants to be asked to pay their delinquent accounts. If you had the money you would have paid it, right? How dare they ask us to pay for services we charged, cars we signed for, or accidents we were in. Right? That's not how the world works. We have to be held accountable for our actions. If someone owed you money you would want to collect payment, as do the creditors. Out of the firms I have had experience with as a consumer, Miller and Steeno PC has been the most flexible. There's an understanding that life happens and they want to do all they can prior to filing a suit against a consumer to help save them money. Most consumers will ignore their phones, letters and such thinking the problem will go away. Unfortunately it doesn't. Answer the phone, respond to the letter before you get a garnishment- I bet you'll be surprised by the effort put into helping you reach a repayment plan to help you.

Made my final payment and they won't even answer my question. I don't want to log back into my portal and see i owe extra money when I don't. Was supposed to be around $46 and the balance said $92! So over this company and definitely done making payments. Update: Woman I spoke with a few weeks ago claimed I had to call the courthouse in town myself to tell them my payments were finished. Upon calling, they told me that Miller and Steeno are to contact them. Never ever, EVER again.

NOT EVEN A 1 star. Should be no stars but I had to leave 1. I paid a settlement in full and have done everything they have asked but almost month later they still will not send the release papers to the court. They can’t even send me a fax stating it has been paid. At one point I called and they told me that everything on their end is done to please stop calling. These people are very rude.

By far the most unprofessional law firm I have ever dealt with. They sued me and placed a judgment on my credit. Years later when I pull my credit and try to find pay what they say is owed. They REFUSED to take a payment. They said that the client that hired them is no longer their client and will not get involved. Their company filed for this judgment on my credit and refuse to give any paperwork stating they are not on the case, not collecting the money, and that they have nothing to do with this case, and are not going to have it removed. They are rude and will talk over you, talk to you like you are their child, will hang up on you. Refuse to talk to you if you are recording them, talk while on speaker phone, with a third party or anything. They can record you but you can record them. Guess it's so the "little people" cant have any evidence of them breaking the law or wrong doing. If they are professional and doing nothing wrong they will allow you to record them.

I had called to see about a settlement on a garnishment as I was no longer employed. Made and offer and was told they would contact me after the client accepts or declined. I NEVER received any word and none of my calls were answered and or returned. 6 months later I was finally able to make contact after the creditor reported as paid in full. They started my offer was denied. I mailed in copys of credit reports showing paid in full status after charge off and they responded with we dont deal with credit reporting agencies. I have gotten a letter from the original creditor showing my balance is paid in full and am now waiting for a response. I have paid 2300 on an original judgement of 1250 and been reported paid in full for almost a year now, however they continue to send me and the court balances that show the principal has not been touched and is still 1250, and now I owe over 3000 total. Definitly deal with everything in writing as they will NOT respond to calls. I have an attorney who has advised I send them this paid in full letter first. If they do not respond by fixing their errors I will take further action.
