Mirbeau Inn & SPA.

I really, really debated on whether to give our experience 3 stars or 4. In the end, I decided that it deserved 4 stars, even though we likely won't return to this location. We visited the spa for one of their packages -- it included two treatments for each of us, a $40 voucher for lunch and access to the spa amenities. The treatments were great and I would return for those. Lunch was expensive, but the food and service were very good. My disappointment was the size of the relaxation and aqua terrace areas. They were small and crowded. There were only 10 loungers in the relaxation area and nearly impossible to get. We paid for a relaxing spa day and while the treatments were great, we didn't get the day we wanted. We've had great experiences at their Albany location. The next time we want to drop a bunch of money on a relaxing spa day, we will go there. The facility and grounds are beautiful, but we just felt we didn't get the return on our investment.
Beautiful oasis of serenity! Restaurant, bar, spa, unlimited tea & infused water, and outdoor seating all available for hotel guests to utilize at their leisure. Loved the gas fireplaces and the large bathtubs in the hotel rooms. The quiet room in the spa was very relaxing. Very nice amenities. Service was great all around! Will definitely be back.
I have been to this spa before and the spa receptionist Diane that was working the desk was the most unprofessional and rude individual I have ever seen. Her lack of professionalism and demeanor is unacceptable and she should be thankful to be working in times like this. I would think again before putting her on the front desk. I would not utilize this spa again as they need to hire better people and have more professional people working and supporting their customers not chasing them away! I would never ever ever recommend this spa to anyone!!! My friend left an expensive piece of jewelry in the spa room and immediately realized it and went to the desk to find out that the spa was closed and guaranteed that it would be there in the morning. It took all morning to speak to upper management to figure out why the receptionist didn’t call upper management the night prior, put notes in the computer as stated and be spoken too. After a lengthy conversation with the very very rude manager she basically told us sorry we lost it or it was taken. Nothing we can do. You can call the police if you’d like. Kept trying to get me off the phone and telling me to basically get over it. No attempt to make it right, no care in the world for the thieves that work there! But they have zero problem charging you $2500 + dollars for an old antiquated room & services. Trust me, you will have a better stay and much better customer service if you stay at a motel or a holiday inn. Worst experience! I will absolutely never stay here again!!!! Would rate is 0/5 if I could.
We just took our 3rd trip to Mirbeau. The spa is great. The rooms are great. The staff is friendly and engaging, but the food was absolute garbage. The first time we were at Mirbeau 2 years ago the food was amazing. For a $1500 overnight you’d expect it to be, right? Or at least edible. I ordered what was supposed to be grilled octopus, one of my favorite appetizers. It came out as little salty, charred, greasy rubber bands. Not great, but not a deal breaker. It’s hard to make octopus good. I was so excited to see venison osso bucco on the menu. You can’t really mess up a slow cooked meal…unless it’s literally days old and completely burnt like my meal was. I couldn’t eat more than one bite. It was so bad that I couldn’t trust anything coming out of the kitchen after that, so I just sat and waited for my wife to finish eating. It’s the first time I’ve ever sent anything back like that anywhere. I’m not really picky, but it was embarrassingly bad. I couldn’t believe the difference in quality between stays. I was told that they have a new “chef”. Trust me when I tell you to go somewhere else to eat. There’s Rosalie’s, or a dozen other places right there that serve edible food that costs half of what you’ll pay at Mirbeau. ????
Went for my birthday weekend I guess they decided against champagne and left sparking water in the champagne bucket along side two champagne glasses and a note wishing me a happy birthday, odd. The rooms were outdated horribly! And soo dark with a strange odor that they mask by pumping scented air throughout the hotel/ spa. There was a wasp in our room stuck between the glass door and screen that was off the hinges & obviously how the wasp got in. After advising the staff of this they sent someone to remove said wasp yet no one put the screen back on the track leaving more opportunity for wasps and other creatures to get in! Needless to say we didn’t enjoy fresh air from our room. Also they insisted room service come clean the night we checked in between 7p-9p (again odd) and they threw out my cupcake from the bakery in town. We had to roll a luggage cart out of the hotel up a hill to our car and load and transfer back to our room ourselves both coming and leaving. I would hardly give this place 2 stars. The spa was ok I’ve had better services at a local masseuse.
