We closed on our home quickly and our attorney was very polite and helpful.

My husband and I worked with Robert Rountree when it was time to close on a home that we purchased last August 2020. After a few months we received the North Carolina General Warranty Deed that had my husbands last name spelled incorrectly. I reached out TWICE to Robert’s secretary and I left voicemails and she never responded. After waiting for almost an entire month to hear back from her, I decided it was time to go in. This was last year in 2020, it is now August. The lady who I spoke to said it would be fixed and I would receive an updated version. It is now August and it’s been almost 8-9 months since I went in. Back in May I decided to reach out to Robert via email since I saw online and my husband’s name was still incorrect. He told me that if all I wanted was to fix the spelling to simply take $31 and he would fix it. I asked him why did I have to pay for this if it was a mistake on their end. Also, I explained that if it was a mistake that I made I would be OKAY with paying it, but if it was their mistake they should take responsibility covering the cost. He never replied to my last email. What irritates me is that I am almost 100% certain it was their mistake. During closing I pointed out numerous mistakes BEFORE signing and I was told they would be taken care of but it appears not. I paid for the service in August of 2020 to be done correctly and yet I now have to pay another $31 to fix their mistake? The issue here is that when someone pays for a service you expect it to be done correctly. If there is a mistake on their part you don’t expect to be charged more to fix it because that is just ridiculous. Instead when I did reach out, Robert Rountree was rude and made it seem like it was my mistake and never replied back to my email. Hopefully this review helps someone who is maybe considering using him for an upcoming closing. If anything I would definitely think twice before having him help out in you’re closing! I’ve attached the last email I sent out to which he never replied.

I wouldn’t see another lawyer without speaking to Ben Eagles first to get an honest opinion or another attorney that he recommends. Great guy, humble, genuine and he’s not an ambulance chaser like some of the commercial lawyers.
