I had a very good experience here. The people were friendly and helpful, the judge was very respectful and compassionate, albeit factual and professional. The only complaint I have was it was a bit confusing to locate being in a 5 building complex with a hotel being the prime building and confusing to find parking. The parking garage is $7 an hour and the only spots available were 30 minute parking for the hotel. I had to call my attorney's office to figure out where to park without having to pay. Otherwise, I was very pleased with the whole experience. You are met with the attitude you give, so if you go in with a bad attitude, don't expect them to sit and take it.
Strange place, I thought I was in a social security office. Don't know about this fancy name. Although I suppose it's a typical govt agency, hardly saw anyone in there with a smile. Granddaughter had a drink, don't do that, had to stand out in the sterile elevator area to finish it. Some woman came out of a door from that area and eye-balled us the whole way across the office and back, literally leaning on the door to close it as if we we fee w going to follow her in. Paranoid and strange place, I'm not sure what all goes on out of this office, but I hope that I never have to go back.
This is one of the the Social Security Disability hearing offices. It was pretty easy to find, ONLY because my attorney told me how to get there and where to park. If I had not gotten to speak to my attorney prior to my visit I would have never known where to park, as there are no signs to tell you where to park or where the parking structure is. It also costs money to park. With all of this already being said, my actual visit there was ok.
Terrible judge assigned to my case. It took charity to get me on an ACA health plan so I could have a doctor complete my Syringomyelia RFC report. Doctors have to look at the whole spine in older adults. Then know enough about nerves and the impact of spinal cord damage.
Should be the Office of Automatic Denial. Not only was I denied, numerous facts or what I said was completely left out of the denial letter. Not only that but several doctors I know were submitted were completey absent. At least the judge, Derek Philips (AND whoever writes the bullcrap) could be complete and fair. NOPE. It is rigged from the beginning, takes way too long (years) and is a flawed system. Regarding myself, I have bipolar type 2, generalized dystonia, narrowing of the spine and need back surgery(never afford in a million years). If you are less than DYING than good luck - you have a piss poor chance with these robots.
