INTENTIONAL / UNINTENTIONAL nnA friend and I went to watch the movie I CAN ONLY IMAGINE last Sunday and it made me remember the year my son was trying to qualify for the motocross amateur nationals. It had been a great day and all he needed was a top ten finish in the last moto. He had been finishing around fifth all day and I just knew his dream was going to come true. In the last moto Dillon gets a good start, he's running in third with three laps to go and I'm watching my son do what I CAN ONLY IMAGINE when out of nowhere another rider hits him. The position I'm standing in afforded me a bird's eye view of the bike going end over end in slow motion it seemed. When it was all over Dillon's head was between his knees and I can see blood dripping from his mouth. The rider UNINTENTIONALLY hit Dillon but that didn't change the outcome---Dillon is pulling time for another man's crime! The search engine went off in my brain to find the POSITIVE in this terrible POSITION my son is in. My RETICULAR ACTIVATING SYSTEM is going as fast as he was riding to find the WORDS that will take him from last to first. I can't tell you how many times I've been in this position in life and didn't have a clue what I was going to say and don't know why the official let me on the track that day, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE! Dillon you ok ? With tears running down his face, he said yes dad. Son today is a defining moment in your life; it's not how a man gets knocked down its how he gets up. You'll never be a great WINNER until you are a great LOSER and I know you are disappointed. Son, I know this isn't the race we traveled to Alabama to run but it's the race we are in now and I would love to take first place home. That was the day Dillon received a first place trophy for last place. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE where those words came from that flowed from my mouth that day. INTENTIONAL/UNINTENTIONAL the bible says all things work for the good for those who love the LORD! nnI believe their could be much improvement but over all good intentions. The lady who answers the phone is not very pleasant but we must consider the frustration she has in her life. I hope this story will help her understand what we plant today we will eat tomorrow!

The lady who answered the phone was extremely unhelpful and rude. Really? That's the best Cumberland county can do?

I'm a man of color and she was very nice to me.

I phoned the office today to speak with someone in reference to an Armed Robbery in which I was the victim. The lady answering the phone at the D.A. Office was extremely rude. Each time I tried to explain my reason for calling, she abruptly discounted my reasons, I finally asked to be transferred to the D.A. directly. As a tax payer and long time resident of the community, I am appalled at the lack of regard of human dignity. As a public servant, the person charged with addressing the public has no communication skills and is a poor reflection on our judicial system. I am not a criminal and don't appreciate being treated less than humane. I served in the court family for 10 years and never once treated anyone with demoralizing behavior, it wasn't necessary and certainly not a reflection of professionalism and my Christian values. The lady charged with telephone duties on this day, 10-24-16 is anything but professional.
