ROACHE & ASSOCIATES
Reviews
In February of this year I tried to pay my dues to my surprise my account had been sent to collections a day prior. When I reached the office (Omni) the lady let me know my account had been sent to Roache and Associates. I immediately called them because I was willing to pay my dues along with the late fee because I knew I was late on my payment. The gentleman I spoke to notified me that when I received the letter I could dispute it because I had not received a letter from Omni stating it had been sent to collections. I few months go by and I had not heard anything after calling multiple times to their office I was finally told in July I would get a letter in the mail with their decision. I just received that letter 7/22 a week later and I am being asked to pay $520.00 which is completely unacceptable. I never received this letter they are attaching to the sheet of papers they mailed. Like I told them in my dispute and over the phone I never received this letter; our neighborhood was being hit by mail theft at the time of this letter being mailed and mail was being thrown in different areas of the neighborhood. I never received the letter stating my account would be sent to collections. As I told them (Roache & Associates) I am willing to pay my dues including the late fee because I know I was late but I am not willing to pay the attorney fees and most definitely not the court fees. After speaking to Jodi 8/5 after 3 failed attempts in reaching her by phone and email, her response was you’re an adult and know bills need to be paid. I’m not running away from paying my dues I’ve been trying to do so since February! Yet this office never returns calls or emails and expects you to pay their ridiculous fees. When asking to speak to the attorney she said we are not your attorneys so you will have to wait until you meet in court. What kind of response is that?
Roache & Associates is an attorney collecting HOA dues on behalf of CASI in Carmel Indiana. My HOA account was turned over to their office for an outstanding balance of $217 in May of 2023. Last week May 2023, I received notification that I now owe $511 and I inquired about the payment options available. On June 5, 2023 I contacted Roache and Associates to make a payment of $250 via debit card. I was informed that I wasn’t able to make a partial payment via debit. I was told that I would need to make the payment via check and that no payment confirmation would be provided until the balance was paid in full. The office worker continued to inform me that if I wanted confirmation in writing that “we could go to court.”
Multiple requests were sent for HOA payoff and multiple dates were given when they would get them to us. They never deliver on time. Took over two weeks just to get a payoff and closing date had to be pushed back because of their incompetence. When you call and ask, all you get is rude responses. Awful!!
I get that these people are just doing their job as debt collectors, but they didn't have to be so insincere about it. I agreed to pay the amount to settle things (even though I didn't agree with their reasoning as I had already paid the bill in question), and still ended the phone call in tears. The manager I spoke to was even worse. Zero compassion.
They were to collect HOA dues, they contacted once....I called them....$350 in dues turned to nearly $1000. I asked about settling out of court and since I didn't know to request a form for payment arrangements; cost just climbed. It's a racket. They don't make good attempts; SINGLE letter that we assumed was junk. They have our contact information; just a single letter
