My wife and I first contacted Ron Butler's office at the height of our financial crisis. With the current housing market, we were unable to sell our St. Louis home after a move to Austin. The burden of two mortgages and overwhelming credit card debt, amidst other family issues, brought us to our knees. Having been 'model bill payers' for over 30 years it was quite an embarrassing and humbling experience to undergo. However, from our very first visit to Mr. Butler's office we were greeted with warm, professional, uplifting insight and advice. We so appreciated the way Mr. Butler and his paralegal Amy Riewe made us feel valued and took away the ominous 'end of the world' we're having to declare bankruptcy feeling. The savvy experience Mr. Butler possesses and personal, empathetic manner in which Amy addressed our situation has brought a tremendous amount of comfort to us. Hey, if anyone out there is feeling the burden of financial upheaval CHECK THESE GUYS OUT! They were a Godsend for us!!
I went to Ron Butler when I received a Boating while intoxicated on Lake Travis. This was after one of the big shot attorneys in downtown Austin wanted money up front and cancelled on my appointment time twice. Mr. Butler did an excellent job of collecting my video, reviewing it with me and filing the necessary paper work. After his discussion with the district attorney I was given community service and just a 1 year probation. I was very satisfied and if I ever need an attorney again (I've learned my lesson on drunk driving) I would use him again.
Thank goodness for Ron & Amy!!! So glad these two are in my corner!!! We have had them handle my bankruptcy and I don't know what I would have done without them! He was professional and knowledgeable. His paralegal was AMAZING!!! She is courteous, patient, and so helpful throughout this tough process. I highly recommend Mr. Butler.
We hired Ron Butler to file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy. He and Wendy, his paraleagal, made us feel comfortable and confident in our decision. In the end, he ended up somehow getting us a Chapter 7, which we did not qualify for. Now we can start over fresh without owing one penny to anyone. It is so liberating! My husband and I are so grateful for everything that his office has done for us. If we had gone through some other office, we would still owe over $40,000, but now we can solely focus on rebuilding.
I attempted to make an appointment with Mr. Butler after the death of my father for representation in Texas Probate court. I called on Friday when Mr. Butler does not have office hours to set up an appointment for the upcoming week. His paralegal, Laura, who was answering the phones that day, had *NO IDEA* what the term 'Probate' meant, and didn't understand what I needed. The only thing she could identify with was the term 'Will' and thought that my father needed a will done. It took a very long time and explaining to get it through to her that my father was dead, but she still didn't understand why I was calling, or what I needed. Since the Paralegal does the majority of the day-to-day tasks and probably all the paperwork in a case, I avoided the 'free consultation', and went to another attorney that made me feel more comfortable that their team (attorney PLUS paralegals) had experience with this field of law. My suggestion would be that Mr. Butler either hire some sharper help, or have his help actually read through his own website (which was very helpful, by the way) to learn some Texas law basics, or remove 'probate' from his website to prevent others from being disappointed and borderline offended.
