Retainers are required for most cases. All clients sign written fee agreements which explain all fees. For most Divorce and Family law matters, clients are billed based on an hourly rate plus costs and expenses. The costs of a divorce or other family law case depends on the complexity of the case and the issues being litigated. For most Criminal cases, clients are typically billed on a flat fee basis depending upon the charges, complexity of the matter and the venue where the matter is located. For personal injury cases such as car accidents or dog bites, clients are billed based on a contingency (percentage of recovery) of the settlement recovered plus reimbursed costs and expenses. No legal fees are required to be paid if there is no recovery.
