Reviews

So, I have thought about this review for a very long time before actually writing it. Specifically, I have thought about it for seven almost 8 months. So I hired Mrs.Scott to assist me with some issues to the power of attorney of my mother and her real estate. She suggested that I file 3 different suits. I believe that her recommendations were based on excessively billing versus what was legally and Strategically prudent. Long story short, she lost all 3 cases. An example of excessive billing would include, but not limited to she contested process service. Although she has been an attorney forever, she charged me for case law research. In addition, this is what her husband is for a living. She stated that she was surprised that they did not serve her in court, so if she could be easily served on my behalf, while where we contested it in a first place. We went to court and Mrs. Scott recommended to the judge that we go to mediation which she of course had a “friend” that is a mediator and magically available immediately. The judge ordered mediation and we spent all day mediating with her consistently telling me that we will close. We spent hours in mediation and nothing came of it. Of course, we were billed her hourly rate for the mediation, as well as the mediators fees. We then had to go back to court. Mrs. Scott appeared as she forgot all about the case. I had to provide her a written summary. I don’t believe that she was truly prepared for trial that day. She allowed one of the opposing witnesses to go on for five minutes, unchallenged without opposition. She also recommended that I provide the opposing party with records that were not court ordered which he later used against me to file yet another lawsuit . Needless to say, I ended up losing the lawsuit, paying her excessive attorneys fees totaling over $30,000, paying opposing counsel fee totaling approximately $30,000. The kicker is that she sent an email notifying me that we lost the case. She did not have the decency to call. She suggested via email that I appeal the decision obviously to line her pockets further. Naturally, I passes. I do not recommend her. I think you would be better off representing yourself. Note she is One of three attorneys that I have rated, and the only one rated one the other two were rated five.
