My ex husband hired John Strickland as his lawyer. Unfortunately, we had a negative experience with this lawyer. Despite paying for his services, I felt like little progress was made on the case. Communication was lacking, and it seemed as though our concerns were not taken seriously. I had hoped for more proactive and effective legal representation. He was always out of the office and it took forever to hear back from him. I would caution others who are considering this lawyer's services to closely evaluate their track record before proceeding."

John is our neighbor and offered free legal advice. We clearly stated through text and conversation that we wanted to hire him to move forward with a lawsuit, and he agreed. He lied and told us he sent a letter of intent. When we asked a month later what the response was, he again lied at worst, misled at best, and said there was no response from the other party. We then asked what were the next steps, and again, making it clear we wanted to move forward and hire him (after again he stated he didnt realize we were looking to hire him *gaslighting*). He slowly stopped responding to us once we asked for a copy of the letter sent. We stated we were going to hire other legal counsel since he was clearly too busy to ever respond to text/calls/emails, to which for the second time he stated "i didnt realize you wanted to pay me i thought i was giving free legal advice" (note we made an appointment and went into his office, my husband taking time off work and us hiring a babysittter and sat there explaining we wanted to hire him and what the next steps looked like). He never sent us a copy of the letter (because it didn't exist). He gaslighted us multiple times to the point that I had to start going back in our texts to make sure we said what we said. He was always out of office in court (found out that was lies). So dishonest. He was our friend and neighbor, and I'm so appalled at his willingness to lie, deceive, ignore, and be wildly unprofessional. Even going so far as ignoring our request to pay for his time to send the letter (again because said letter never existed and our new attorney made it clear had he taken our money he would've been in a world of trouble). He made something we were already exhausted over harder and longer. I will be reporting him to BBB. I'm sure this will make being neigh or difficult now, but I hope others read this and very seriously take caution. He wasted months of our time and made our case substantially more difficult.

If I couldn't give a star I would. He is sorry. He took my brother money and did nothing. All the attorney said in court was ask the Judge to have mercy. My brother got 8 years just what the state wanted. I advise no one to hire this attorney unless u want to go to jail period.

John is a wonderful attorney and even better guy! He is very knowledgeable and personable when it comes to dealing with legal matters that can sometimes be difficult to handle. I highly recommend him.

Do not pay this lawyer in full, wait until every thing is done and then pay. We paid in full and from that day on he has done absolutely nothing for us. We had two different court dates that he promised to show, the days came and on neither day he showed up . He never bothered to picked the phone up to update us on our files, and when we called he was very rude.
