If I could give zero stars I would. If you care anything about your case do not hire him. If you want to just throw money to him for absolutely nothing then get collection notices in the mail after paying in full and being current on your payment plan and being told he’s going to zero out my account balance because he failed to appear in court to where the judge ORDERED HIM TO APPEAR AND HAD TO CONTINUE THE CASE AGAIN. Then hire him. He tossed me to different attorneys multiple times BECAUSE HE COULDNT APPEAR ON MY BEHALF THOUGH I HIRED HIM. I paid 6000 in retainer fees to have him call in another attorney WHEN IT WAS FINALLY TIME TO GO TO COURT just for that attorney to tell me I need to withdrawal everything he(Thibault) told me to do… literally paid for absolutely nothing. I had two payment plans one was paid in full and I am still current on my other and I am getting a threat of a warrant in debt from a collection agency for 3999.00. I have never not paid this man for his services. If you cleared my account balance and I had a 0 balance why am I getting collection notices. I am sending complaints to the bar and I have all supporting evidence down to the letter from the judge ordering him to appear and him failing to appear when he signed all the orders and was supposed to be there. His paralegal Tamara is great I have no complaints about her but it’s sad she works for a man that just takes peoples money to do absolutely nothing. She was blindsided and apologized multiple times when she had to call me the day before court at 4pm to tell me he will not be there because I never “retained” him. And get this I called 5 days before that to make sure everything was in order and ready to go to trial and I was told yes all is good and he will be there. Literally 4pm the day before court… not professional at all and shows no care for his client. If you had a good experience with him great… but I can not and will not say the same for myself and this was a custody and support case. I will never recommend this “attorney” to anyone!

I have a very stressful important case tomorrow that has really affected my ability to work and having court tomorrow and no follow up on very crucial critical evidence that I need information that I need is not making me feel good and I’m trying to reach out to the court myself to ask for continuance because I don’t think that this is going to work out as planned. I really wanted to do a lot of my Services with this law office, but I mean who’s not gonna call a client and just let them know something!!!!

I was an out-of-town client who previously resided in Virginia Beach, where I had gone through a divorce/child visitation. I retained this law firm to adjust visitation due to a separate legal matter involving my ex-husband. Instead of effectively handling my case, Brook Thibault’s negligence and dishonesty led to my ex-husband filing contempt charges against me—dragging out a legal battle that lasted for two years. Brook Thibault not only failed to represent me competently, but he also lied, mishandled my case, took my money, and ultimately abandoned me in the courtroom without any legal representation. His actions were not just unprofessional but outright unethical. If you believe the Virginia State Bar will assist you in holding him accountable, think again. Unless there is an escrow-specific issue, their intervention is limited. I submitted all the necessary evidence, yet Brook Thibault blatantly lied to the Bar, falsely claiming that I told him I would lie in court—an absurd and baseless accusation. There was no need to lie, as I had all the supporting documentation to back my case. Brook Thibault is unGodly, deceitful, and solely interested in his own financial gain. He does not embody the integrity and professionalism one should expect from an attorney. I cannot stress this enough—please, for your own sake, find another attorney. Brook was always very attentive and understanding. Helped me with my custody case and with drawing up my will after my husband passed away. Stacy, his paralegal, is always so kind and responds lightning fast. Great law firm, great team, and great lawyer.

We had absolutely no idea how to navigate our custody case. I'll admit, I worried that we wouldn't be prepared. I was ASTONISHED by how much Brook knew about our case! We had a SLAM DUNK at court today and the odds weren't necessarily in our favor. I am so very grateful for Brook. And then there is Stacy (and Haley!) who are simply fabulous. I'd never want to do this again, but if I did - I'd never go with anyone other than Brook!
