Amanda is more than the best family lawyer in the state but probbaly the west coast. She is also a friend 20 years later after winning my case . She changed more lives that were in danger with great work on all levels. My twins have had a great life due to her and her staff so if any one wants to win a case where it's the right thing for the kids she's your Lawyer and know this she will win period . Win win win. My case was hard how many guys win in Washington state ? Criminal record too boot? Really ? She did! For all the right reasons and all the right outcomes . She would be a great Senator that is if she wanted to.

I hired her (and her team) for my divorce case as a defense lawyer. I really needed their professional help as I am NOT familiar with divorce procedures and WA laws. She literally did not give me any feeling/confidence that I had a chance to win the case. I talked with her a couple of times and a few email exchanges but my bills kept coming even though she is not my attorney anymore. There was no mediation or court. We did not even make it that far. I feel that she overcharged me even though I explained that I had a very bad financial situation and did not work with her very long. There were moments that she made me feel like she was HIS (the opposite side) attorney and not mine. If you need somebody to make you feel that "you got this", she is not the one! I needed a strong lawyer who understands moms and women who have been in tough situations in a strange country and being abused but all i ended up receiving was HUGE bills. I now can't even afford any other lawyer and am in a worse situation than before.

The women were great. Staff wonderful. Cost a nightmare. I was told it could cost as much as $50,000 to $100,000’s at the start. The cost kept climbing. It has reached over $225,000 & still climbing. They completely understood my financial status before, during & after the divorce. They understood & asked me to sign a pledge of payment once my Seattle home sells. I left Seattle knowing I owed $84,000+ to DuBois. I have to pay tax penalties for early withdrawal from an IRA, twice. I found out this past Monday I now owe $112,000 & climbing w/interest! I haven’t cried since leaving Seattle, that phone call brought tears & financial stress & taxes slamming back into my life & mental health recovery. My final bill & total will be at or above $250,000. They keep reminding me that my ex was very litigious driving costs up, that I signed an agreement to pay X amount for persons A, B or C. That had I hired any other divorce law team the outcome would have been worse. The aspect of charging interest from a client during the worst marital nightmare is just wrong! This company policy is just wrong.

If there is 10 stars, I would give them full stars. My divorce case dragged for more than one year, before I came to DuBois Cary Law firm. My first divorce firm was McKinley Irvin (the big popular firm), which assigned 2 leaving attorneys to my case. The attorneys are leaving the firm, yet they are assigned to my case! I spent money on bad lawyers, who never spent a drop of their energy on my case. I moved to another lawyer, John Kydd, who is abusive and would clocked hours and hours to gain fee. We talked on the phone for over 3 hours! That is super exhausting, because I would be reduced to tears. I almost gave up on attorneys, with much disappointment and decided to go Pro Se. After 4 months of Pro Se, my ex was pushing me so hard to a corner. With my family help, I finally mastered a courage to contact DuBois Cary. Amanda recommended Lucia to me. I was very skeptical about my new attorney. Fast forward, within 5 months, my divorce case is finalized with a good offer package from the opposing party. Even the opposing attorney like working with Lucia! I am very blessed to meet Lucia (remotely due to Covid), and I hope I can hug her in person if I can. She is genuinely care for me, and she is such a kind hearted lady. She is professional, and her team is very responsive. What can I say, there is always a good sheep among the bad ones. Thanks Luca and team, you have done good thing to my daughters and myself. You have saved a helpless mother who is constantly bullied by her ex. You managed to steer her away from hopeless to hopeful situation. Thank you!
