I currently do sales for Viasat. Everything is in the disclosures. We have great service but nothing is guaranteed with anyone. We use the service to work from and its great. When we use the usage calculator we ask questions and determine what is the best package for your household. You gotta listen to us and not the price. Also Internet service is not to watch tv such as netflix all day. Netflix was created to an extra source of watching a movie here and there like a online redbox. Try redboxing all day everyday. Youll like Viasats pricing instead. We are internet. Not tv. We do also have a great bundle with direct tv.
I would not give this company one star but zero stars wasn't an option. I was contacted by a ViaSat rep asking me if I wanted to bundle my internet with my Direct TV. She told me I could get 50Mbs for $19/month plus a $10/month modem lease fee and it would take $10/ month off my Direct TV bill. I agreed to bundle. The technician came out and installed a satellite in my backyard and had me sign an E-DOC that he said was acknowledging that I received the equipment and it was installed correctly. Once he left I noticed that I could not stream videos with constant buffering. I did a speed test and I was only getting 3Mbs. I called customer service and they told me I was signed up for a 12Mbs plan for $60/month and if I wanted their highest 35Mbs plan it would cost me $150/month. I was livid. I told her no there must be some mistake and began to explain to her what the Rep who called me promised me. She said that she had no proof of that and basically there was nothing she could do. I told her I wanted to cancel then. I was already getting 75Mbs for $65/month with Xfinity, I had no need for 12Mbs for the same price or 35Mbs for over double the price. She then explained to me that the E-DOC I signed when the technician was there was a 24 month contract and that I could not cancel my service until I paid an early termination fee of $15 for every month left in my contract (24 months). I explained the situation to her, her supervisor, and three other people. None of them were willing to let me out of the contract without paying the early termination fee. I have tried to find out who signed me up to see they could get me out of this scam and no one knows who signed me up. On top of all that.... My internet isn't even bundled with Direct TV. I'm not getting $10/month off if my direct TV bill and direct TV had no idea about any if this
If it were possible to rate negative stars, I would. Their comically atrocious customer support is only matched by the horrible internet connection. They take advantage of rural customers that don't have any other options.
