Larissa understood and helped me when domestic violence institutions would not. I recently experienced a tramautic event related to domestic/intimate partner violence, within a polyamorous relationship. Within a two year relationship of mine, and after my partner had over a year of an open, concurrent relationship with someone else, my partner's partner became mentally unstable ad made a violent, but ill-conceived and attempt on our lives with questionable competence (and my life in particular). After experiencing emotional recurrent trauma and nightmares, and obtaining a PPO, I reached out unsuccessfully to domestic violence services who would not help me, ostensibly because the person who did this was never an intimate partner of mine, despite being my partner's partner. I was able to speak to Larissa on more than one occasion as I navigate the trauma and my path to a real sense of safety, amid the uncertainty of not having closure on the outcome of this case. She was willing and able to give me simple explanation of the case's proceeding based on a public court document I sought out, and this in turn improved my sense of what to expect. A simple act that has meant so much to cope through stressors I neither caused nor deserved. Thank you Larissa!
