Do Not Hire Him!! I asked him to represent me in a family court matter. When we went to court he was not prepared to say the least, he didn’t even know how long I’ve lived at my residence. At court he told the all he would have our motion in the courts within the week and here I sit constantly asking him when it will be done. He finally tells me it is months later and he tried sending it to me several times but it was blank documents. He never tried to send it via postage, he told me I can stop in sometime to pick it up and asked when works and we still haven’t been able to find a time that words for him. This guy is a joke and a half and should retire before he looses all credibility! DO NOT HIRE HIM!

I wrote an honest review of my experience as a previous client of Alf Langans and he disputed it to have it removed. That's dishonest! However, it has prompted me to review his terrible service on other platforms, so it was a poor move. Below is my original review of him. FYI, he's been disciplined also from the bar, so just pick someone else. I hired this attorney for a very simple family court matter. I made a huge mistake. He does not respond very well to emails, if at all. He sent about 10 emails about a certain topic for NO reason as they were not getting us anywhere. Then I am charged for them. He charged me for part of my initial conversation with him, never telling me this until I see the bill. I waited 2 weeks for a call back and made 3 calls total before getting one back. He sent me a time sensitive email and implied that I needed to answer him and he would pass the answer to the parties involved and then he never did tell them. I left him a voicemail the same day regarding difficulties with the party because of his inaction and requested a call back asap because of this and it is now 2 full business days later and still no word. Today I hired a new attorney who has a much better rating than this man. In my opinion, do NOT waste your money. I have gone through almost $1,500 and all he did was go to one court date and send countless useless emails. Then I had to call him to let him know that these emails were useless and he wasn't listening to me. Although he seems like a nice man, as an attorney; get someone else.

Answers phone calls and emails promptly and with plenty of information so that I feel fully prepared. He’s the kind of lawyer that I had hoped I could be, when I considered going into law in college. We’ve gone to him for our will, a workplace issue, and a misdemeanor issue with one of our children. Having gone through the death of my father when I was 11, Alf understood the will / estate /revocable trust questions and concerns that I had. Now I’m 3/4 through divorce and I wouldn’t have gone to anyone else in Wisconsin for his areas of law. No question.

I'm not sure on other cases I see below are some bad reviews, but this guy sat on the phone with me and discussed things over, he answers all my emails in a timely matter.. so far he is the only that actually took time to talk instead of rushing into money right away. Like you should want to talk with someone who may hire you not rush it into money talk right away. Alf Legan did not, now I just hope for good news soon!!! Fingers crossed. ????

Went there a few months back to ask some questions about a probation violation. He gave me some advice that kept me from getting my probation revoked. Had to sit a week in jail (which he predicated) but that was a lot shorter then the time I would of had to sit if I didn't take his advice. Would recommend.
