I can understand the system in place for dead beats that try to avoid taking care of their children, but for real fathers to be treated as criminals from the get go is absolutely ludicrous. More times than I can count, I’ve come across fathers (myself included) that basically pay an insane amount of money to the state to avoid jail time. The state takes their share, then distributes the leftovers to the mother some considerable time later. I’ve also come across cases of dead beat mothers that want to spend the money on their own personal use before they consider their children. If the mother is struggling financially, she gets some form of assistance aside from child support payments. However, if the father is struggling financially, he gets free housing behind bars. All-in-all, the system is flawed when it pertains to fathers that try to play an active role in their children’s lives. I’d much rather make direct and verifiable payments to the mother, and/or purchase the necessities that the children need, versus the state siphoning whatever they can to the point where the father can’t afford to visit his children because he’s working late to make ends meet.

It's rough to be struggling with both a mental issue and physical injury and be made to feel this bad. I am so much more stressed out now for no reason. Been repairing my life for a decade now. Trying to find a silver lining but without the courts helping us dads see our kids...I don't know where the motivation is supposed to come from when you don't care about anything anymore. My son is 9 and Ive seen him once...Don't even have a meeting place and Im only 2k behind. I'm aiming for a class action lawsuit hoping to expose the abuse of power and prejudice towards men.

Worked there. Tried to provide complete and honest customer service but that is the opposite of what they want to provide. It's really sad.

Once a proud Texas Aggie I no longer consider myself a proud Texan. The Texas AG is entrusted with enforcement of TEXAS LAW, but the Child Support Division which is under the Attorney General is allowed to display contempt and complete disregard of the LAW. Apparently they feel that Family Code 157.005 (for one instance) does not apply to the Government as they can do whatever they choose, regardless of the LAW... Even bypass the Court System to order garnishment of wages that a Judge would never grant. As such they can even involve the Federal government to pressure a citizen to pay what under Texas Law they can no longer collect due to Texas Family Code 157.005 (Statute of Limitations) and use the Fed to take away a person's rights of citizenship if they owe just $2,501.00 (even when it is no longer collectable BY LAW); whereas the same 'punishment' is not also applicable to the person who owes even as much as $50,000 to the IRS for back taxes, which IS still collectible BY LAW. To think that such is the way this Government treats its veterans which have fought for its defense, no longer makes me proud to be considered 'American'. I suppose that next they'll take away my Veteran Medical and other Benefits as well. SHAME on the Texas Attorney General's Office and on the Federal Government which supports it. Shame also on the Social Security Administration that honors a garnishment letter for 65% of a person's pension without a COURT Order or due process. This country is going down the toilet under this regime.

The representative answered all my questions and was very pleasant over the phone.
