Reviews

Do not recommend using this firm. I’m just going to highlight the unprofessional moments that really made me lose any confidence I had in this firm. After going through mediation and trying to sign the agreement it was a total mess. They messed up the paperwork too many times to count, they would send it back and there where errors. So I would have to point out that it didn’t match the CR2 agreement. They didn’t even spell my name right, not even on the final paperwork after I asked them to fix it. The court date had to keep getting moved back because they paperwork kept having so many errors. Which fine I get it we all make mistakes, but they charged me another 2,800 after mediation because of the delays and they weren’t my fault. And that charge just hit my credit card without any bill being sent to me explaining what the services rendered the charge, I didn’t get that until I called the billing department. They claimed it was an email issue, funny though because my email works just fine when the paralegal would send me “updates” and then tried to charge me another 1,200 once again without a statement explaining the services provided. I get it if you are talking with the Attorney formally and they are giving you professional legal advice yes you have to pay for that. But I lost my mind when I was being charged for errors of their end and the lack of sticking to a timeline. I did what I was supposed to now do your job. They did refund the last charge, but only after I called the paralegal out on it. I wanted to talk with my attorney but he was on vacation or something. And there was no apology or explanation. Once again they claimed it was an automatic billing error. But had I not said anything they would have just kept charging me and dragging out my case. And no I’m not happy with how the parenting plan worked out, I didn’t feel represented during mediation, I felt like I gave up a lot more then I had to. But hey that’s just the legal document that is binding to my kids and I for the next 14 years. If you want someone to pay attention to your case don’t go with this firm. You may as well pay yourself because you’ll have to do all the leg work while they charge you for brash e-mails with little substance leaving you confused and more stressed out about your divorce. I had Rhonda Johnson and Bob Miller.
Bob Miller was my lawyer who came recommend to me. He was the worst recommendation I have ever had. I needed to move as I could no longer stay in the area due to financial hardship. Bob did not stand up for me in mediation. He sat there laughing and joking with the mediator Elizabeth Turner the entire 8 hours. These two would not mediate at all. Instead of negotiations, Elizabeth and Bob would act as if they were a judge often stating "this is what a judge would've decided". My ex didn't even submit any paperwork to the mediator prior to mediation. It was like the mediator was making inferences towards me and my case. I wasn't asking for the parenting plan to be changed completely, as I want me kids to enjoy time with their father. I figure she should not be so bias since she didn't have any documents from my ex. Bob didn't seem to care that my ex didn't supply any documentation, Bob just agreed with everything Elizabeth Turner had to say. In the end, I lost. Just because I decided to move 30 miles away. I had my children 70% of the time before all of this. Now I see them for 6 days out of each month. I have read another persons review of Bob which was similar to mine, except his ex-wife moved out of state and got to keep the kids. Please avoid Bob. He is literally here to be a life/ money suck and he'll make sure you won't get to see your kids as often as you use to.
Ken and Debbie were AMAZING for me during my divorce. 34 year marriage, and i was clueless how it would all work. Fairness and respect was important to me, and they made it happen. Im friends with my ex, which wouldn't have been possible had this been long, drawn out and mean spirited. I would 110% recommend Brewe Layman.
Ken and Rhonda are the best! I can't say enough about them. Great representation and always professional & quick to responsed????
Ken and his staff are wonderful. I do highly recommend this firm if you are in need of a divorce attorney. Katie's responsiveness was outstanding and Kent was very supportive and helpful at the courthouse. Never any judgement from these wonderful people.
