His secretary promises you that I would get certain things. She is not even a paralegal. Also you have to tell him the same things over and over. His secretary told me if I told her over the phone she doesn't keep a record and that I needed to send emails. This was all after the fact. He doesn't fight for you. He will try to settle. I got charged for 20 hours because all he tried to do was settle and settle what the other attorney wanted. He also makes secret deals in judges chambers and me as the client has no idea what they talk about. He's very secretive. I told him over 20 times I wanted to go to trial and he would not go to trial. He doesn't know how to fight at all for his clients. I dI'd confront him after the court date and told him he didn't fight at all for me. Isn't that why I paid him? He sucked up over $4000 dollars and made my case worse off. Also, instead of him doing the work like the court orders etc. He let's the other attorney do it who purposefully botched the court order and then he did nothing. I then FIRED HIM!#!! If I could give him negative stars I would. Stay far away from this guy unless you want to settle what the other party wants. Very unprofessional. Negative 5 stars.
Mr. Groom is terrible and needs to retire. Obviously his best work as a family lawyer are way behind him. He tells his clients it all "ok" then just tries to get you to settle for what the other party wants and drags cases on for an extended length of time. If you don't settle and have to go to trial, he then drops you as a client and you're back to square one, out of time, and now have to hire a new attorney. And if you need any research done that pertains to your case, well you're on your own. He has a phone answerer that has a hard time keeping notes, not a paralegal or secretary. Best to hire someone who will actually work for you. If he doesn't want to work family law cases, then don't take on the cases and making false promises. Children only get hurt more. Keep away from Groom Law Offices
Worst experience. Tried to stay in touch with him. He told us he would take our Social Security Disability case. Then less than 2 weeks before we go before the judge, his secretary calls to say he is no longer doing SSD. He had 2 months to tell us. But he waits until the day my husband takes him a flashdrive full of information. She could have told him when she received it. Or when he called. Not a professional way to handle a client! ????
We were involved in a Construction Dispute with a very unethical Contractor. Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars were involved. This was the first time my wife and I have ever been involved with the Legal System and it was very stressful on the two of us. Brit was recommended to us by another Attorney because of his background Construction litigation. Brit de-escalated a volatile situation and talked my wife and I off the ledge. His skills as a competent litigator quickly became evident in that he was able to take different data points (Architectural Plans, Engineering Documents, Building Permits, and numerous conversations with different Suppliers, Subs Contactors, Public Utilities and Expert Witnesses to develop a strategy. As a result of Brit building a strong case we were able negotiate an out court settlement that exceeded our expectations. The opposing counsel was simply outclassed.
Timeliness is not their strength at all. Even after they've received their payment in full.
