Advocates don't help, put you back out on the street or back to your abuser. They don't care about you or the kids. Worst place ever. They lie to you, because they originally told me I was safe, and i will not be leaving until i move into my own place. They put me out with no where to go.

I'm a client. The advocates nearly guarantee safety and well-being and help as much as they can as long as you are trying to reach your goal. Needless to say I was told to live at my work for 2 days because they couldn't get me back to the shelter and I've exhausted every possible option at work. Then still getting vebally abused by other clients more the 4 times reported

this place is horrible, the advocates have their favorites that they do more for, they some of them stay longer, they always threaten to put you out, even if you dont have the resources to find a place to go, they aren't trained well and act like they dont know what they are doing, you have to basically go there and be your own advocate and do everything you can on your so that you dont end up back with your abuser if you dont have family or friends to help you,i do not understand how they are allowed to get away with all they do there, its absolutely amazing

I had contacted the center to ask for some help in getting information as well to start therapy after having been attacked (sexual assaulted). The person who I spoke to on the phone took my info and said she would be back in touch with me with information. Never heard back from her. I contacted my victim advocate and she said she would be in contact with the director at the center to help me get set up with therapy. I was told it would be about a week and I would hear from a therapist. Never did. The victim advocate asked if I had heard anything; told her no, and she was getting back in touch with the director of the center. just spoke with my victim advocate who asked if I had heard from anyone; again I have not. She then told me she was told by the director at the center that a therapist had spoken with me. I think I would remember speaking with someone. Never have! When you hear about victims being re-victimized; this is part of what they are talking about. An organization that says they are there to help are very absent and have been no help to date on this. I am being jerked around in the court system in getting the guy prosecuted and now the one organization we are referred to for help has been of no assistance and is now lying about being in touch with me.
