During an OWI settlement (a losing compromise), I gave him a wealth of written testimony (5 pages of contesting fact), scathed and dismissed, which makes me skeptical of his zealousness when it comes to what now is becoming typical… “DEFENSE” WORK!!! After the fact; Jonathan kept in contact, but again, when conflict arose admitted in a specific context “the system is broken” but (again) dismissive in action, although I was offered practical but underwhelming advice.The ultimately wounding advice, putting me figuratively on the sword! Typical Steuben work, yes! Zealous. Never! Leading myself to believe many of those working in criminal justice system and judicial system are intimidated by intelligence when it comes to mutual outcomes; instead, preferring a one-way punishment with not an ounce of logic (just the dictation “because that’s the way it is”), all the while the most affluent “residents” are welcomed to exploit the serenity of the area at the locals’ expense… The truth is this, since no one else is willing to say it… All voices need to be heard in the area, so just outcomes are not removed based on interpersonal politics; and, those with the closet ties (aka influence) you should have faith in the government, legal system, and ideological standards!!! If there was a 0 I would like to give him that. I am not sure we're to begin because he has showed he is not for justice and stand by his client. Not very well organized and tends to take a lot of vacations. He represented me for my divorce. I was only married two years and it took my attorney 3 year for me to get a divorce. In this time period he charge for his time but no end in sight. It seems like everytime I spoke up for myself he would make it harder to get result. My wife left out of house and she took a large amount of money that was gotten before marriage, took my guns and family heirlooms and went through my storage unit. She contributed nothing financially to the marriage but what she could get for herself. She should what kind of person she was but was rewarded a large cash amount I am to pay to her.I feel like my attorney was on her side and working with her attorney for her to get what she wants He didn't like me so he side with wife's attorney. All I got to say is if you have a lot of time ,money and willing to not get good results for yourself then he's a great attorney for you.

Where do I began. I have been dealing with parental disputes for 14 years. I had another attorney for 8 of those years and still got taken advantage of a single mom of a very busy boy. When I hired Jonathan I was so worried he wouldn’t want to deal with everything I had been dealing with for all those years. Little did I know he was a true blessing. He not only took me on as a client but helped me settle 14 years of parental disputes in under 1 year. He’s very understanding that emotions may get involved yet is very supportive and patient during everything. I’m so grateful for Jonathan and his entire office staff.

I was in a very vulnerable situation when I hired Jonathan Cress as my attorney. 7 years later this attorney is trying to collect THOUSANDS after appearing in court one time and being paid in full upfront. Legitimately ONE time. I paid the retainer that was “ attorney fees paid to trial “. I left a terrible domestic violence situation and during provisional orders attorney fees were also granted to be paid by my ex. So this man should have been paid TWICE at this point. During this time I found myself homeless with my 6 year old child (from a previous relationship, this was not child custody). After hiring him and before the provisional hearing I needed to seek safety and shelter for myself and my child. I moved out of state to be with my sister. Attorney cress was not happy that I left the state. Even though I was fleeing for SAFETY. Attorney Cress was angry with me and suggested that I come back and continue to stay in Indiana, even though my son and I were homeless and being stalked and threatened by my ex husband. I feared for my life and my child’s. Cress suggested I put myself and my child at risk, for the sake of winning the case. Winning would have meant keeping the martial home and had my ex knowing EXACTLY where I was. All I wanted was safety. I felt unsupported and fired Cress before he ever appeared in court or worked on my case again. My ex and I eventually settled out of court, with representation from his attorney alone. Yet still, attorney Cress is trying to collect as if he represented me thoroughly. In summary, please consider anyone other than this man. He’s a predator. He is very greedy and will not have your best interest in mind.
