Terrible experience. Cashed retainer immediately and provided no service for four months. Did not respond to phone calls or emails. When I would call he was always “busy” and “would call me back” which he never did. Gave every excuse in the book, including he had emergency cases that were basically more important then mine, never asked for any documents to even get the probate to move forward. His legal assistants are very incompetent as well and when questioned of what they did for four months responded very rudely and their only solution was to refund the retainer. Four months lost and multiple families left hanging, didn’t even get an apology.

Google reviews is actually how I found Copeland Law. I reside in Ohio and needed help with a custody "battle" in Jacksonville. Copeland was one of 3 attorney offices I reached out to based on the reviews. The other 2 offices had decent reviews but when I called I felt like a number to them and was unable to speak with someone other than a secretary without setting an appointment (I understand lawyers are busy). When I called the Copeland office I was immediately transferred to Dan. I explained my situation to him and he walked me through the process in plain English so I could understand what to expect, never over promising unrealistic potential outcomes. I was fully aware of what I was getting myself in to. From what everyone thinks and hears I wasn't sure a dad had a stone throws chance at winning custody case..... After we agreed on terms, Dan attacked the case at full speed. Keeping me in loop as much as needed so I wouldn't worry. I spoke numerous times with Dan and Ashley and always felt like I was high priority. Dan even showed me some of the correspondences between his office and my Ex's attorney. I have to say... he's no push over and wasn't afraid to call their bluff. At this point I knew I had the right guy. After all.... he won my case and my son has been relocated to Ohio. I would highly recommend Dan and his staff. If you are looking for someone that wont back down or be pushed around... Dan's your guy.
