Don Burks P.C.

Mr. Burks was the GAL assigned in a custody hearing involving my children 5+ years ago. Let me start by saying the best interests of a child/children SHOULD be Mr. Burks highest priority, however, sadly it is not! He is EXTREMELY bias. He stood in court and lied saying he had spoken to me and been to my home when in fact he had not. I hadn't even met the man prior to court. I left multiple messages and never got a response back and when I was lucky enough to catch him to talk to him he was rude and acted as if he didn't want to hear from me. My children's donor he spoke so highly of and suggested my children live with was busted for drugs and had a no contact order from cps. Donor has been MIA for 8 years now. Just goes to show Mr. Burke could careless about children and their safety.

I called Mr. Burks to speak with him regarding a child support case. I don't know anything about law. All I know is I wanted my interests protected. Mr. Burks was rude and talked down to me as if I was the bad guy. I take care of my family and I do my best to make sure my kids have everything they need. Mr. Burks would ask a question and then interrupt me as I'm trying to answer. He didn't listen to me. I don't know if he has just had a bad day or what, but I'm really disgusted by my experience with Mr. Burks.

Very impressed with this firm. I contacted them during the Covid 19 virus lockdown. I figured I'd have to leave a message and it would be a day or two before I'd get a response. My previous experience with law offices (even in real estate transactions) was that the staff comes off with an attitude of moral high-ground that leaves you feeling like a lesser human. I was very pleasantly surprised that I received a call back in less than 3 min and Sarah was extremely helpful, informative, and pleasant. We scheduled a consult with Mr. Burks and he was equally pleasant and helpful. I was very encouraged to have their support in a stressful situation and a plan of action for steps to take which may or may not involve their services. I never felt pressured or swayed but just that I was given the information to make my own decision on how I want to proceed.

So today finally I received this letter from Don Burks Law after I tried numerous ways to contact them (!?!) "You informed us yesterday that you again continued your case to August 25th, and that this would be the last continuance permitted by the Court. When you told me of the continuance, it appeared that Mr. Burks would be available for the new date. But upon checking the schedule more closely, I discovered he was scheduled for another case that same day and time in a different court some distance away. Mr. Burks will not be available to represent you. I apologize I did not see this at the time of our conversation. When Mr. Burks learned of the conflict he took time to call the legal referral service, and then called you, to confirm the following: Mr. Burks is not going to be able to represent you due to a scheduling conflict. ----------------------------------------------- the previous letter i wrote to Donald Burks (Attorney): saying that my case on this matter has not been extended to August 25, 2017 @ 0900a.m. However, once again, I just called the court clerk (Deborah) and she confirmed in fact , "the case is on 08/25/17" so I don't know why the lawyer is lying (?!?) Furthermore, per our conversation with your office clerk "Leslie" yesterday, I gave her the update on this court extension so your office will have time enough time to clear the check you have! She also did confirm that the attorney will be available on the new court date! In summary, the lawyer did say he has all the paperwork & chase bank check# 5756 which he says he'll return but does not have my address!?! I tried calling his office back many times and left numerous messages but Don Burks Law firm is ignoring me for no particular good reason! Additionally, if you continue to ignore me and misrepresent yourself then I have no choice but make a complaint with the BAR association and you will have a bad review. So please we both do not want to get to that point. Finally, be honest and do your job upon our agreement. Thank you Yours truly, Kassab

Awful experience. I don't know anything about the law but I couldn't even ask a question without immediately being cut off. I was in tears I was so upset and he continued to be extremely rude and degrading.
