Facer Law Office

I found Mr. Facer to be an excellent listener. He did a wonderful job evaluating my situation, explaining things I didn’t understand, and helping me sort out the options. He has been very generous with his time and took a genuine interest in my present and future wellbeing. As I age and my needs evolve, I will most certainly seek his advice and assistance.

Thorpe, Kim, and Christina are incredibly difficult to work with. Their customer service, and knowledge for state laws and real estate transactions was subpar at best. Responses from Thorpe were not timely, and responses from Kim and Christina were very rude and often unprofessional. I would NOT recommend this law firm at all and wish I had listened to my realtor when they suggested someone else instead of Mr Facer - for these very reasons.

Mr. Facer was hired to administer the estate of my grandmother in 2001. He incorrectly advised the executor as to the division of the estate. Because he gave advice contrary to Illinois law, the income from the farmland was only paid to the two surviving children and not paid to the heirs of the two predeceased children. Once this was determined in 2018, other attorneys had to be hired on behalf of family members, pleadings had to be filed in court, and hearings held until a negotiated settlement was reached, all of which took until 2023 to be completed on behalf of my family. Since Mr. Facer advertises his estate planning seminars and expertise in that area, he should have known Illinois law, correctly advised the executor, and properly administered the estate based on Illinois law. Based on my family's experience, I would not hire Mr. Facer for anything estate related and have only given him a single star, because a no star choice is not offered.
