I paid a 5k retainer to employ James Fairchild to sue Carilion Clinic in a federal lawsuit. I did most of the legwork, legal work for this case. He just continued the case & spoke to the defense & myself in short order. He rolled over and was complicit in trying drop the case. I had to have the right to sue through the EEOC. James Fairchild said he was all about suing Carilion and then notifies me of settling for the 5k, I just paid him. Do not hire or trust! 2nd draft... I'll be suing for gross negligence, malpractice, or along those lines! I paid James Fairchild a 5k retainer he was Gung ho about suing Carilion for 100k in federal district court. James then tried to settle for 5k. The same amount he cashed my check for. James filed a continuance and spoke to their lawyer and myself. I can or anyone can ask for more time...a continuance worth 5k. I'll speak to James and let them have 1k for wasting my time and not having to file suit for malpractice, fraud. Don't waste your time or money!
Very unprofessional… I don’t know how else to word my experience with this law firm. I had a consultation set for 2 PM yesterday. I called at 2 PM and the receptionist took the money for my consultation. After taking the money, she then tells me that the lawyer, Mr. Fairchild is actually not in the office. That was problematic to begin with because she should’ve confirmed he was there and ready to speak with me prior to talking my money. Needless to say, the attorney never called and I took a whole hour from work waiting for his call. I called back today and the same receptionist never apologized and suggested him calling me today. I explained to her that I would rather not. Also, I did not have time to set aside and anticipate his call today. I asked her to please refund my money, and she said OK but she has to get the same lawyer that stood me up yesterday to approve it.. My suggestion is before you pay them for a consultation be sure to confirm that you are going to receive your consultation as schedule.
Brittany Roark handled my case with extreme professional and dignity. She was a court appointed lawyer for me. She took time to look over my case, review evidence and made sure I was prepared for court. We ended up getting a not guilty verdict for myself. I was very thankful and impressed that she took the time to handle my case like she did.
While the reviews below are mixed, I can personally affirm that even in a case where a less than desirable result was likely Mr. Fairchild was articulate, and well prepared to articulate the best interest of his client. He has handled and navigated a somewhat delicate family matter, and I am thrilled with his representation. As i have mentioned regarding others, any attorney that is willing not only to offer a vigorous and professional representation, but also carefully explain the pitfalls and likely outcomes with REASONABLE expectation of results is INVALUABLE. Mr Fairchild, (JD) is not only professional, but friendly, respectful, and respected by his peers. I am completely thankful to have made a new friend in the professional community and would not hesitate to use his services, or recommend that others do the same!!
I had Mr. Fairchild represent me in a recent DWI case and I must say he was spot on. He was up to date on Va. laws and came prepared for the hearing. He didn't mind taking the time to explain to me what my option were and gave me a honest opinion as to what he believed the commonwealth would attempt to do. In cross examination of their witness he was sharp and used a common sense winner take all attitude towards the other side and because of that we came out on top with all charges dismissed. I would not hesitate to retain Mr. Fairchild in the future for any matter that called for a good, calm level headed attorney and a staff with an attitude that YOU really do matter!!!!! Thank you very much....
