Stationed there from '69-70 and loved it. Worked at Army Airfield and took pictures of the aircraft and Helicopters, including the fire bombers....WW2 B-25s and old Navy Privateers (Navy B-24s). Saw old mining camps in the county side and old dredges. Flew around Mt. McKinley, as a tourist, and saw Alaskan villages, such as Talkeetna. Always wanted to go back.

The worst army base ever! If you live on post the females are horrible and scream nasty things at you! I was literally stalked by our neighbor she was filming my husband and I. I do not recommend this place for anyone. Also they have very racist employees that favor Hispanic people and treat caucasian people unfairly! If you are caucasian do not expect any of your deposit back and prepare to be treated unfairly!

Stationed there from 82 to 86. Was a bit of a shock coming from Bragg but adjusted quickly. We loved our assignment there. Didn't leave with a new car - didn't get divorced but did leave with a new kid. The key to enjoying the interior of AK is to savor the experience. Experience the beauty and vastness the place has to offer. Prepare for the cold and dark but take it as it is and alls well. Would go back anytime.

I came here after a friend recommended I try out the local craft brews. Honestly, I was not impressed. As an IPA guy, I found that the heavy focus on stouts and dark beers was not my cup of tea. However, if you’re open minded about beer, you might find something to like. The bartender was kind of rough around the edges, but he had some good recommendations. Unfortunately, the beer here is just not for me. Prices were reasonable.

The food was spectacular. The entertainment was quite amusing. Overall, I'd rate this as the best Alaskan resorts. There is so much to do and see in Fairbanks. It is one of the best cities in the world. The whole family had a wonderful time.
