Chris Benis represents our landlord, who stuck us in a house with fleas and whom has handled the situation poorly. We felt that Benis seemed untrustworthy as we approached a resolution, so we sent rent in certified. A few weeks later we get message from Benis' law firm that rent was NOT sent in and that we are occupying the home illegally. Proving this wrong with a certified receipt and the fact that the mail was still there for two more days. We have asked Mr Benis if he advised his client to conceal or deny the receipt of the rent and he will not answer. They had prior offered a settlement that required that we leave the property and they will not respond to a counteroffer that allowed us to stay and seek remedy. Instead we received a threat despite having paid. Chris Benis should answer the question of whether he instructed a client to conceal the receipt of a rent check, and he should reply to messages in a timely manner instead of offering hollow threats in order to intimidate paying tenants that catch the landlord in suspicious acts.

We had a legal question regarding an easement for a property for which we were in contract. Jim Harrison handled the question quickly and knowledgably. He was a great help. We were under a bit of a deadline, and out of three law offices, Jim was the one that came through for us. He also provided us with some some guidance on how to handle the issue ourselves--which is always refreshing to hear. They'll be the first place we go next time.
