I was referred through a referral service that cost me money from the start. I had spoke to a attorney and he did not seem very competent about my case. He informed me to provide some documents that were irrelevant to what I was in need of. I called the referral service back up to address my concern and request a new lawyer. Upon that request they forwarded me to the same law office through telephone transmission. I spoke to the secretary and addressed my concern and she informed me she would assign a new lawyer. I received no phone calls from them I had to make all the attempts to get in contact with them. After getting a new lawyer assigned I spoke to him very briefly. He immediately get very combatant and called me a Sovereign Citizen, which to me is a derogatory statement and their is no such thing. You can only be one or the other and it is not defined anywhere in any law book. It is a oxymoron statement. I informed him that I have a legitimate status on file and it is 8 U.S.C. 1101 (a) 21 which indicates I am a State Citizen and that I have permeant allegiance to the State of the Union. I also informed him that a U.S. Citizen is a Citizen as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1401 which indicates that you are a citizen to the corporation USA inc. and not your country. I asked him to define where you could find the status of a Sovereign Citizen and he got real nasty and called me some other derogatory statements after he got belligerent he hung up on me. This was the Buffalo NY office while I am seeking a Civil Rights Case.

After my Mother passed and it came time to pay the nursing home there was an opportunity to negotiate a lower rate with the facility but this firm instead offered the nursing home the remainder of her estate to the penny. There are plenty of attorneys doing elder law work...look elsewhere. As my Mom used to say "a word to the wise"
