As a volunteer mediator, I can tell you that mediation is incredibly transformative and helpful in virtually any kind of dispute. Each party is given a safe, neutral, and confidential place to work through their differences without someone else making their decisions for them. I have witnessed seemingly impossible situations become rectified because both parties were listening and offering creative solutions that may not have been reach otherwise. nnThat is not a guarantee in every situation. The nice thing about mediation is, if you don't feel it's working, you can opt out. nnMediators are not lawgivers, nor do we give legal advice. Our main purpose is to help opposing parties find common ground and move forward with untangling knots. nnI would suggest everyone try it for any reason. The mediators went out of their way to help us out. While it is never a fun experience, or place to be, I feel that the mediators we have had have always truly wanted to help families and children to resolve their issues and for that I give 5 stars.
