Out of the 18 years i have been a business professional, i have never encountered a more disrespectful, insulting, and arrogant lawyer such a Mr Joe Benson. My fiance HIRED Mr Benson to fight a gun charge by a person prohibited. At the beginning, he was very optimistic because he felt like he could beat the case based off of me owning the piece of property the police took my trash from. Without an actual agreement from me, Mr Benson ordered a 500 dollar survey that was not in the cost of attorney fees and i already had one that was provided to me when i brought my home, which he said wasnt enough. The survey was not used but Mr Benson emailed an invoice asking my fiance to pay for the survey. Mr Benson was very, very dismissive about everything my fiance had to say about his case from the search warrant to the relationship of my fiance and his informant. Mr Benson also only put in one motion to suppress and that was pertaining to my trash. There was no other motions filed when clearly there was. What really got me was when Mr Benson said my fiance gave him a little bit of money (8,000) and even questioned why he was mad when my fiance is facing ten. I wouldnt recommend this lawyer to represent my dog let alone a living human being with ids to live for. Shame on you Mr Benson for how you acted and how you handled this case and the world should know that you should NOT handle another human being the way you did my fiance. he was unprofessional, did not handled the case properly, and insulted us at his every turn. No more Delaware layers for me
