Stovall & Associates, P.C.

My husband and I met with Jim Stovall to revise some will documents. We sat with Jim, and he chatted about the process, his hobbies, etc. with us. He let us know that the process was simple, and it would only require a couple hours of their time. He continued to say that if it would need more than that, he would let us know. I was leaving the country, so we stressed the importance of getting it done relatively quickly (he had 5 weeks to revise our will--a standard form). We didn't receive a follow up until I asked about it, and then before we received ANYTHING, we were sent a bill for more than double what two hours of his time would have been--the initial meet and greet meeting was included in that bill. I'm sure they're a very competent firm; however, beware that they charge for everything. Jim set expectations that he did not meet. We felt swindled by his management of the entire process, but the rest of the staff was marvelous.

I personally cannot recommend Stovall and Associates due to the poor quality of legal services I received. I feel that I paid for one of the associates to email people with a cadence that drove no call to action on any parties part, but generated healthy billing. I talked with Jim about this and he seemed very defensive and unwilling to listen or review the quality vs. Billing I was told that I reviewed and approved letters sent, but candidly I pretty much wrote them and they slightly revised and put on their letterhead. Iis their job to write a meaningful letter that has legal merit and approve the quality of it after spending all of the "case review" I paid for. Very disappointed.

Reprehensible. Said he'd help me with a problem, I spent 2 hours preparing docs for him to make it easy for him; he never responded to numerous requests to actually do the work he promised. He is an example of why attorneys have such a poor reputation. Full of ego, avoid at all costs.

The staff at Stovall and Associates is very knowledgeable and kind. Long time locals of the Vail Valley, Jim and family share an intimate relationship with the happenings around Eagle County. Experts in real estate, construction, and lending.

I've known Jim off and on since the early '80's - he's always been my favorite in the Valley - excellent attorney and his staff is outstanding...
