First, this law firm's performance has significantly declined over the past twelve years. I specifically requested Xander to handle my foreclosure/bankruptcy case since he was the lawyer who represented me when I first purchased the home twelve years ago. Initially, Xander showed concern when I mentioned receiving photocopied bank statements and asked me to bring them in for review. I visited the firm on June 12th to meet with Xander, but instead, I was handed off to an assistant. I was informed that a different attorney would handle my case and that the attorney I was supposed to meet had chosen to go to Oneonta that day instead. The assistant, who had no knowledge of foreclosure/bankruptcy cases, made some photocopies, making the trip a waste of time for my father and me. On July 3rd, I received a call from another assistant named Darcy. She mentioned that an attorney named Bill Casey had called and talked to me about my case, which was untrue. No one had called me until July 3rd, and it was the assistant. She also stated that they couldn't handle my case as the firm does not handle bankruptcies/foreclosures despite their involvement in real estate transactions. Darcy admitted that although the firm couldn’t help me, they were still interested in the status of my bankruptcy/foreclosure. This admission indicates that the firm accessed my confidential information not to assist me but to gather information for their purposes, which is highly illegal. This is the second law firm caught engaging in such practices, the first being Coughlin and Gerhardt, which I also reviewed negatively on Google and Facebook. #LegalFail #ForeclosureFiasco #ClientConfidentiality #LawFirmIssues #UnprofessionalService #LegalIncompetence #CustomerServiceFail #PrivacyViolation #LawFirmReview #ConsumerRights #RealEstateLaw #CustomerServiceFail #LegalIncompetence #ConfidentialityBreach #BankruptcyHelp #LawFirmReview
Working with Bill's team was a great experience. They assisted me all the way through the process of purchasing my first home. I was impressed with their due diligence of the property and problem resolution. Closing was smooth and all my questions and concerns were addressed. The value provided for their fee was beyond worth every cent. When I got to the office I was greeted very nicely with the reception and felt comfortable. Thank you Bill, April and Tess for all your hard work.
I would never recommend this office to anybody. The closing and the process has been a nightmare. Nothing was done in a timely manner. You are kept in the dark more then anything. And the updates they do give you are updates that were suppose to be received weeks ago. Dont ever use this office. No matter what. Unless you want your home buying process to be the most stressful and awful experience. Because as if buying a house wasn't stressful enough.
I have used these folks for all my real estate transactions over many years. I would never use anyone else. I worked with April Brink who was exceptional. We had a few last minute details that arose and she took charge and resolved all the issues in one day and we closed on time. Great work by all!!
My wife and I recently purchased a home in Binghamton. At our Realtor's suggestion we came across this firm and used them to handle the transaction. Both Ms. Allen and Mr. Hubal were professional, listened to our concerns with interest and took care of any problems that arose on the spot. We dealt with Ms. Allen mostly on the phone and through e-mail and she was terrific and helpful with no hesitation. We dealt with Mr. Hubal in person at the physical closing and he could not have been better. He had suggestions, made everything clear and summarized the entire process at the end of the transaction. He, too, was terrific and his demeanor and pleasant personality put you at ease. Even the receptionist that greeted us was warm and friendly and very helpful, (so sorry, her name escapes me). We would recommend this firm to any folks that need this type of legal service in the area.
