If i could give a zero star rating, i would. Hiring Julie Lim was a HUGE mistake and after several months and many thousands of dollars, it became clear that if I did not hire another attorney, she would most definitely lose my case. There were lies, many missed deadlines, documents required were not filed with the court and she RARELY returned calls or emails, etc. When I would finally get a hold of her, she would bawl me out, literally yell at me, and say I "know nothing about the law", "stop trying to micro manage her" and I just needed to trust her". Whenever I would challenge her about her mistakes, she'd get really angry and say that I "was the problem", it "wasn't her job to baby me", and "i don't pay her enough to have to call me back"etc. I literally was speechless! Fortunately, I had witnesses to these verbal onslaughts, (speaker phone) so she can't lie her way out of my accusation. Also, when checking my ridiculously high invoice, it became clear she was over-charging me. Court papers showed a fee paid of $60 for example but she was charging me $130. There were things I was charged for more than once, you name it....This person is the type of lawyer that gives all lawyers a bad name. I mean no disrespect to anyone. I came to her for help from being victimized & taken advantage of by the guy I'm suing. Julie Lim's negligence, dishonesty and incompetence is one thing, but for her to be so rude and verbally abusive takes her treatment of clients to a whole new level. It is just plain WRONG! I feel it's my responsibility to put this out there for people looking for an attorney for what it is worth. Had I known and read the reviews (there are some on other sites as well) i NEVER would have hired her. I hired another attorney who is kind, efficient, and I rarely have to call/email him with questions because he lets me know things on his own. The few times I did email him, he got back to me within the hour. He's been trying to do a lot of damage control in order to try and save my case. In seven months she did nothing but get sanctions imposed on me for HER missed deadlines, put me in bad standing with the court and the defendant's attorney and had "going to trial" as her only objective which I DID NOT WANT if possible. In less than 3 months, my new attorney has established himself with the court, had some money returned to me and we have a mediation date. The office includes just Lim and the world's worst receptionist/secretary. In her defense though, I'd act like that too if I was constantly having lie for my boss and then keep track of those lies. What a mess! I see now that I "wasn't the problem" at all. Julie Lim was. WISH I HAD DONE MY HOMEWORK ON HER.

Run away from this lawyer. Horrible simply horrible. She's slow, lazy, and she charges you for services she didn't do. We hired her from Smartlaw, well I'm going to ask them to remove her from that site, people need a better lawyer than her. We hired her on March 3rd to evict tenants that haven't paid rent since Oct. She promised us to evict them in 30 days if we paid her $1535.00 plus expenses which were $400 just to file papers in court.. A whole month passes by and we don't hear anything from her, I kept sending her emails and calls, her assistant covers for her, we never received a call back or email like her assistant said she would. Oh but if you owe her money ufff! She's calling you and emailing you like crazy, go figure. So after more than 30 days we finally hear from her that we have a court date on mid April and in order for her to proceed, she needed a $2k deposit which we deposited 3 days after (mind you we already paid her in the 1st visit $1,9050 plus the deposit to start court that's $3,950). We don't hear from her until I emailed her and asked if we need to meet with her to prepare for the court tomorrow. I don't receive an email from her until 10 hrs before we were supposed to appear in court she told us it got canceled, mind you I asked for a day off work, my father and brother did also, not only are we loosing money from unpaid rent but also from our jobs and all because Julie has a personal agenda,she had another case to attend to, the decency. The court got moved for next week that one got canceled also, ok we started getting really pissed off by now. She also told us that she canceled the court because she wasn't prepared and that the tenants lawyer wasn't cooperating with her and that she needed to file an ex parte, which I know she didn't but is billing us for it. By the 3rd try in court was also going to get canceled until I got really angry and was a little hard on her and she caved in and we finally get to show up at court only to be set for trial until May 2nd, which that court date got canceled also. Until May 15th, by now we were beyond mad and disappointed. We all show up again just so it can be rescheduled for next week. And Julie didn't even fight for us or stand up for us, she let the tenants lawyer take the lead and decisions. So we show up next week for court and we have had it, we decided to settle for 1/3 of what they owe. Before we sign the papers Julie tells us that the 2k deposit plus $600 she will receive with the settlement covers for everything she's done and we agreed and signed the papers, should have paid more attention because as soon as we signed she added more to the papers and she didn't sign them. I received an invoice 5 days later that we owe her $2,600.00, are you kidding me?!!! Her retainer said $300 but on her invoice she put $350. She does a horrible job and canceled court after court and by the way she's charging us for that plus all her expenses like parking and her driving time. Wow! Shows us what kind of person she is. Well the state bar is going to hear about this and so is Smart law. If you already signed her to your case try to walk away and try your luck somewhere else.
