The reviews are right. All she cares about is money. She couldn’t even be bothered to directly speak with me. She had her secretary call,, saying that the retainer is $2500, so if that’s not doable, call somewhere else. No thank you. Your reviews are bad enough that even if your retainer wasn’t double what any other lawyers are asking, I still wouldn’t hire you.

Spent more time talking about her very expensive life in Chicago and about her kids and the private education they receive and her husbands a chef. After my case was done and paper work was finished I received a letter asking to retain almost 4k I said there's no way I called and asked for a statement never got it, called again never got it, called a week later no answer! Called a 4th time still no answer!!! Few months later she took me to collections and small claims! At that time I decided to consolidate my debt and with the last billing statement I received saying I actually only owed her 1200 before I got the one asking for 4k. She got it handed to her in the long run.

Retained Melissa in the last year. I could not be more pleased with her, her staff and the services they offered. I went in the first meeting, explained my situation, what I wanted and that was it. From then on she made sure everything that needed to be done, got done. She provided invaluable support when things got rough with my spouse, and never once stopped pushing to get everything she felt I was entitled to and what was best for my child. All these people saying all she does is ask for money, in the course of about 6-8 months, I only had to make two additional payments on top of my retainer and each time an itemized invoice was sent to me, all of which I felt was more than reasonable. I cannot say enough good things. I hope to never need her again in the future, but should something arise I would not think twice about retaining her services again.

She is overpriced $1500 retainer, $300 hr, $50 for email communication each, and seems not to care about her client. Unless you have deep pockets. This attorney is about money and not about your fair treatment in the civil process. She has you sign contract to lock you in and treats you poorly. She takes your money and purposely causes strife and does not confer with you and leaves you without cash laughing while taking your $1500 retainer. I would file a complaint to have her license revoked. This is why normal people struggling hate attorneys. They are leaches. She give attorneys bad reputation laughing all the way to the bank while your left empty handed. Peoples lives matter but all she sees is money. Sad for her. Poor ethics. Wonder why people think the court system in United States does not work for people. Only if you have money it works. I can not say this enough...leach!

Dissatisfaction is an an understatement. I got absolutely NOTHING in terms of counseling, game plannning etc. All she did was type talk to herself and let’s not forget her always wanting be right. Every time I would ask her a question that to me was important and the description leading up to the question was important, to her it was black or white “I don’t want to hear it,” “Time is money,” yet according to her when I arrive seven minutes late then I was horribly late and then sat for 15 minutes so she only counts the time I’m late but not the time she shorts me and I am going to reiterate when I tell you I would never recommend her to anyone and I am writing this post so I can keep anyone else from losing their time their integrity especially When a person in my condition with all the weight of the world coming down on me and wanted someone to speak to and hopefully an understanding attorney but instead get scolded and ignored; I’m a grown woman I don’t need a mother I needed a strong attorney who is going to tell me and guide me for the best route at this point I’m willing to join the other side and work something out better the rest assured if you feel as a lawyer that it’s discrimination of character or destruction of profession then maybe you should look in the mirror and change your ways a little bit like be nicer and Karen if someone trust you and cries in your shoulder it’s usually a complement and humanity. Above all meant to be kept private. Ms Melissa, will charge you and reminds you about your balance. Asking or expressing anything is a bother to her!!! I never had a door down or a conversation regarding options, “just what do you want” and “this is what you need done”.
