Mark Chernev was our attorney for an issue with a master tenant who moved from our rental unit but wouldn't vacate the lease, preventing us from signing a new lease with the subtenants. There are myriad ways to tie oneself into knots, wasting time and money considering all the possibilities of a case. Mark Chernev didn't do that. Mark is experienced and knows what's likely to happen in these cases. He kept the ship on course. If new information became available, we would adjust our course appropriately. But the twists and turns were minimal, and we were very happy with the end result. Highly recommended.

After inheriting rental home after my mother's passing, my family could not have navigated the rental laws to have the tenants vacate without the assistance of Zacks & Freedman. Our attorney assigned was Mark Chernev and the staff were always available and kept us informed leading to a successful conclusion. As an inexperienced landlord our family knew so little that was required about the San Francisco Rent Board and their laws regarding Form 1000 notices, timelines, tenant rights for children (staying until end of school year), and negotiation requirements. Tenants have pages of tenant right attorneys and organizations to help them and we had no one. It wasn't free but it was inheritance funds well spent.
