Susan was amazing! I had talked to her about my case and she was completely honest with me and extremely helpful. Explained what I should do and could of just taken my case but she was completely up front and explained that it would be a waste of money for me if she couldn’t help me get why I wanted.

Hire Susan at your own peril. When I hired her I specifically told her that I wanted her to represent me, not her assistants. She assured me she would. As trial approached, she told me her assistant Kerry would argue my case instead of her. The old bait and switch. The reason she gave was that opposing counsel (OC) was animated, she was too, and "the judge doesn't need both of us like that." In retrospect I believe she bailed on me either because she was afraid of OC, or they were buddies. Prior to trial Kerry lost important evidentiary email documentation I'd given him that could not be reproduced. I asked Kerry if we could do a preparatory Q & A to ensure neither of us would be caught off guard at trial. He told me he doesn't do that so testimony comes across as more natural. His refusal to adequately prepare resulted in him mixing a single photo of a newborn child in with several photos of another child, causing confusion and embarassment at trial. Kerry recommended I additionally hire a guardian ad litem (GAL) who he referred me to. I accepted his advice, which resulted in me wasting more thousands of dollars due to the GAL being a lazy, poor investigator, who accepted blatant lies as truth without verifying their accuracy. Susan told me she would be present in court to assist Kerry. Out of the 4 or 5 court dates we had, she only showed up for 1/2 of one day, and that was only after I complained. Kerry's courtroom demeanor was timid. Every time the judge called the attorneys to her desk for consultation I got screwed, either monetarily or with ridiculous delays and continuations. While testifying I repeatedly had to ask him to speak up so I could hear his questions. OC, on the other hand, was yelling and hurling false accusations against me during cross examination while Kerry meekly sat by, raising only one objection. OC came across as passionate about her case, while Kerry came across as a casual observer. After two years and tens of thousands of dollars, with numerous other witnesses still waiting to be heard, I realized it would be at least another full year before I could get a ruling, probably longer. By that time my wife and I both needed major surgeries, it made no sense to continue throwing good money after bad, and I withdrew my suit. I paid tens of thousands of dollars, a heavy mental and emotional toll, and was no better off than if I had never hired her at all.

When going through a struggling tough time in life, you need someone to help you not make things worse. The Law Office of Susan L. Ward was not just inept but made my life more difficult. From not answering my emails, charging me for misunderstanding/communication time to mistakes in billing ($10,000)and NOT following my directions they created a hardship for me making my divorce and debt lawsuit even more heartbreaking. With the understanding of "all work gets billed", Law Offices of Susan L. Ward should be representing me I have proof that was not true. I would not recommend ever hiring them. This lady charged my parents over 10 grand just for me to lose in my divorce case back in February. I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU WILL WASTE YOUR MONEY. I believe the whole point of attorney is to help. This lady made me look stupid because my mom was paying her so she was communicating with her and not ME at all I never spoke to this lady one time I was missing court dates and everything because I never knew when I had court she never notified me , email, mail or anything she made me look like a bad parent when my car broke down and I was in the process of moving out of my old home. The only person I spoke to towards the end was her assistant maybe twice and then Kerry koyne but even then he still lost in court. And my ex husband got everything he wanted. These people are a joke. How can you can you make your client look bad. 1/10 do not recommend don't waste your time or money like my parents did.
