Please describe a case(s) in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I would have to say that in representing juveniles, I derive the most satisfaction. Many parents have come back to thank me for, paraphrasing their words, scaring their kid straight. I try to impress upon the child that he or she is at a crossroads and give them a visual of where each path will take them.

How did you build a successful practice?
I find that responsiveness has played a large role in building my practice. Also, I have found that being a sole practitioner has worked to my advantage as it's more of a "hands on" representation. I also have made myself available on weekends and evenings because people have to work for a living and my regular business hours also may be their regular business hours.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients should look for a lawyer that they feel comfortable with; who is knowledgable and who's fees are not too high or too low. That should act as a trigger that something isn't right.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge is extremely important in my representation in a case. First, it is important because going before the same judges time and time again, you establish a good track record, which also benefits the client.

Free consultations are mainly to get to know the client, the case and establish, realistically, what can be done.

In a free phone conversation it is important that the client know the charges lodged against him, who the judge on the case is and when the next court appearance/arraignment is scheduled for.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
The difference between myself and some of my peers is that I'm the guy. By that I mean I am the guy they meet with, I am the guy that stands beside them in Court, and I am the guy that sees each case to a successful conclusion.

What are your other interests in addition to law?
Outside of the office I enjoy physical activities - that's how I blow off some steam and keep myself focused.

I enjoy attending local charitable fundraisers that assist with people in the community.
