Extremely unprofessional, Should be able to give Zero Stars. I was happy with the initial response to my inquiry regarding a potential case and the cost but as I was retaining them I got the we think this case is going to cost double. Really three weeks later as I'm retaining them. If that was the real cost why not tell me the upfront? Shady bait and switch! If you want your money to be taken then hire these people.
I owe my life to Marquis Aurbach Chtd., likely literally. When diagnosed with a fairly rare form of Muscular Dystrophy and its abysmal prognosis, I decided to liquidate my investments, which included some privately held stock. This privately held Nevada registered company (the company) after being notified of my medical condition and desire to sell my shares of its stock, immediately began its years-long campaign of delays, intimidation, and threats that led to a legal odyssey the likes I’d never experienced. Upon realizing the company was working against me, I hired a local Wisconsin law firm. But, after a few months of back and forth between my attorney and the company, threats from the company against my attorney and firm ultimately resulted in this firm simply abandoning me. So, I researched Nevada law firms and found (at the time) Marquis Aurbach Coffing impressive. Amazingly, on a Sunday afternoon, Al Marquis, one of this firm’s founders answered the phone and spent no less than 30 minutes listening as I explained the details of my case. By the end of that call Al Marquis had agreed to take my case and assigned me an attorney who himself had been born and raised in Wisconsin. I can’t emphasize this fact enough: one of this firm’s founders, himself now all but retired, made time for me on a Sunday afternoon. Over the course of my case, this Sunday-afternoon unique level of service from Marquis Aurbach proved not to be unique at all, but rather, par for their course. On that Sunday afternoon I received my first real glimmer of hope that I’d found a firm that was willing, and able, to go the distance. Both attorneys assigned to my case, Collin Jayne and Terry Moore, made themselves available to me 24/7, and routinely worked through the 11th hour to ensure we met all assignments and deadlines set forth by the Judge, during litigation, and later the Arbitrators, during arbitration. Collin and Terry kept me motivated to stay the course and to keep a positive mental attitude through the company’s constant barrage of garbage, which was clearly focused on causing my wife and I to give up. Collin and Terry saw me through the darkest hours of this process. During litigation, I had several increasingly dangerous heart arrhythmias that resulted in multiple episodes of shocks from my implantable cardioverter defibrillator, the last episode resulting in a days-long period of unconsciousness and heart ablation surgery with the accompanying work up to be placed on the heart transplant list. Contrary to good human being behavior, the company, now acutely aware of my increasingly dire circumstance, only decided to ramp up its tactics of delay, intimidation, and threats … threats previously only directed at my wife and I, and our Wisconsin-based attorney and law firm, but now even directed against personnel within the firm of Marquis Aurbach, and the entire firm itself. After over two years of litigation and applying every legal trick in the book to delay, the company was finally required to take part in a three-day arbitration. After the company’s attorneys spent nearly the entire first day attempting to remedy technical difficulties on their end, and questioning my wife and I, it was this company’s turn to explain itself in front of the panel of three arbitrators. It is testament to Marquis Aurbach’s expertise, professionalism, and prowess, that after only the first hour of my legal team questioning the company’s first witness during arbitration, the company offered to settle. From reception, to billing, to administrative support, to my two assigned attorneys, EVERY experience my wife and I had with Marquis Aurbach Chtd. was not only completely positive, but all personnel within the firm made us feel as though our problem was their problem. This was the most positive experience I have had with any law firm during my 60 years on earth. Marquis Aurbach Chtd. gave me my life back. Joseph E. Czarnik, Sr., Colonel, US Army (Ret.)
This firm is absolutely incredible! Except for one attorney to steer clear from. Terry Moore is a disgrace of an attorney, if you could even call him that. He’s a child and acts as such when handling cases. He is a bigot, to speak kindly. It’s a wonder he passed the bar exam with his incompetence. Every other lawyer i’ve had the pleasure of dealing with there is amazing. He drags the firm down.
I contacted Robert Loftus of Marquis Aurbach Coffing Attorneys with a complicated unemployment insurance appeal case. From the first meeting with Mr Loftus, we were confident that we could trust and count on him 110%. Phone calls, texts, and emails were consistently returned and he always had an answer to our questions. Mr Loftus was incredibly professional and compassionate, taking the time to understand the difficult nature of our case. He presented us with options and arguments for the best outcome at a reasonable cost. Robert Loftus is an excellent attorney who we highly recommend.
My husband and I inquired about a potential case. This lady called back to schedule a “consultation”. I simply asked if we have a case, so we are going into a consultation. She said the attorney has no information about us until I decided to pay $300.00. I told her if that’s the case, I don’t want to commit and explore more options as the last thing I want is to hear I don’t have the case after all the work. ***Main point for the review is here: She never heard me because before my sentence was finished, she talked over something and hung up on me. My husband laughed as my phone was on speaker. I hold a professional position as well, and this isn’t the way to portray your business or brand. Very unprofessional. Well. Attorney Jack, you’ve got a great assistant. :)
