We retained Brewster to represent my brother in a disability appeal. He took a $75 processing fee up front (which he isn't supposed to do), then proceeded to do almost nothing on the disability case. He was rude, crass, and could not be bothered to return a phone call or answer the most basic questions about an evolving case. My brother decided to fire him but Brewster is still claiming the fee, so no other attorney wants to take the case. I can't imagine what this man thinks he has done to earn the fee. He gets one star because it isn't possible to give no stars or negative stars.
He is a crook. Run for your life before hiring him. My mother essentially admitted to bribing him to NOT help me with my Disability appeal since it was per the Federal Government 'maxed' at $6,000, but while I called him for ten months at least twice a week to check on progress for a medical condition so dire it made SSA Chairman Michael Astrue's "Compassionate Allowances" List of the 50 worst Disabilities known to Medical science and thus was one of his newly created expedited benefits conditions deemed per both the SSA and its adjudicators and The Mayo Clinic to have me dead within 12 months, he never once took my call, nor did he return one. His paralegal, however, as did later (more) did he, admit that he was my Legal Representative. I have the signed contract and a receipt for the $100 or so required for incidentals. He never picked up the $6,000 less than a mile away and the SSA at local and Natl levels say he never represented me. He called me two weeks ago, four years after awarded despite his efforts not to have awarded and thought I was my father, who it only makes sense paid him far more than $6.000 I knew, not happy about it, but I have the contract, he was entitled to, and as I fumbled for my phone in a cargo short pocket, heard him saying, "Hey Ray (my filicidal father), Hey Ray, is thay You? ... No, not it wasn't, it was HIS CLIENT. He danced like a minstrel boy and I felt like a Sr. In H.S. beating up a freshman, and then he asks "Do you want me to call your father back?", to which I replied "I haven't seen nor talked to that old man in 5 years, I have no relationship with either of you.", to which he replied "Well, you were/are? my client, so I'd need your express written consent to contact or speak with him." ... ME: "Oh really, then why are you yammering into the phone, ostensibly calling him like his your twice-weekly golf buddy and you haven't not only called me first or gotten my permission, but you think you are calling him, and you ignored all attempts to reach you for 10 months back in 2009 and 2010. The man is filthy dirty. He should be disbarred. I am not afraid to go on record to report all this.
Moved out of his office, no forwarding address, no contact info. He has all my records. Hearing should be coming up soon.
