The Nieves Law Firm is an award-winning law firm located in Jack London Square in Oakland, and we help our neighbors in the community find solutions to their legal problem.
We provide high-quality legal representation to clients throughout California who are looking to build a better future. Our Firm features a diverse and experienced team of attorneys and staff that are very passionate about what they do.
The firm was founded in 2012 by Jo-Anna Nieves, who was driven to provide Bay Area residents with a law firm that provided a humanitarian and holistic approach to all of their cases. Originally from St.Croix U.S.V.I. and of Trinidadian and Puerto Rican descent, Jo-Anna was raised in Miami, FL and graduated from Florida State University at the age of 20 with two bachelor degrees, one in Finance and another in Multinational Business.
While pursuing a law degree, Jo-Anna interned with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office. It was here that she fell in love with the Bay Area community and built a rapport with the local legal community. In 2012, Jo-Anna’s goal came to life when she founded The Nieves Law Firm. She now spends every day advocating for her friends, colleagues, and neighbors throughout California.
