I recently had an unfortunate legal issue where I needed help with representation and got assigned to MPD. I didn't really know what to expect, so went into it with an open mind, hoping for the best. What I got instead was a top shelf experience from a lady named Rachel and a level of professionalism that I had no idea was even possible from something that was state-ran. I really appreciated the non judgmental attitude and the willingness to treat me as a normal person who is going through a tough situation. MPD really helped me through everything and for that, I am grateful????.
Navigating legal issues can be stressful and taxing. Lexi and Juhi were invaluably helpful in providing representation, explanations of legal terms and court proceedings, and consequently some peace of mind throughout the entire process. Very grateful to the entire team at Metropolitan for providing support to those who need it.
Stephanie D. Moor, showed professionalism, patience and an excellent tactical approach in helping to dismiss the case vs. my brain ill son Michael Raznjevic. Stephanie saved a lot of tax payers money, she communicated well with father and worked very hard on the case that fully deserved to be dismissed!
Simply put, I thought that I was going to be assisted after my OERAP funding went missing. In the process of speaking with Nikki Thompson, I stated that I had spoken to another lawyer about the habitability issues which resulted from my landlord refusing to fix anything since March of 2020, and all the sudden she said, “I can’t talk to you if you’re being represented.” I tried explaining to her that it was unrelated and that all I had done was to have mentioned these issues to a lawyer. Nonetheless, she adamantly stated that she needed to get off of the phone. I tried once again to explain my position when she essentially told me she had to go and hung up. That night, I wrote her a very nice letter and stated that I think she had misheard what I had said. While I won’t state the entire letter, this is the final paragraph: “ If I am totally in the wrong, then please – all I ask is for you to tell me that I am. But I have never faced such hardship in all my life. This has truly destroyed me, and I am barely keeping my head above water. I will take all the help/advice I can get. Please?” She “responded” by closing my missing application case with the state and didn’t even bother replying. Since she was not being paid by me but instead by the state, she found a quick way to get out of that obligation. I’ve never been so disrespected or seen such a lack of professionalism from an attorney in all my life.
Would give a higher rating if possible, My PD Stephanie and her assistant went above and beyond on my case from the second she was appointed! I've had (sadly) plenty of other public defenders in the past that have done the absolute bare minimum to get by and always ended up getting me in a worse situation and seemed to work against me, but with this office they constantly kept me informed through emails, phone calls and, made sure I was always comfortable with any decisions she was presenting me with. Not to mention she went out of her way to get an organization to pay half of my restitution and get my felony dropped to a misdemeanor. I would strongly recommend them to anyone I know because they care about their clients & based on my own experience will do anything they can to get your desired outcome!
