I went to this law office for a simple contract negotiation. We were told that the initial discussion before they took the case would be free and that the whole ordeal should take an hour of their time (at $225/hr). The lawyer told us that if he was going to go over that hour he would let us know so that we wouldn't have a surprise bill. During the negotiations I had to constantly contact them every week to ensure they were actually doing something. After my contact they would then reach out to the other party and get back to me. At the end I got very little out of the negotiation. When the bill finally arrived there was almost 3-1/2 hours of charges. I was charged for every time I had to remind them to do their job and then charged again for the response to me. There was also a 0.75 hour charge for the initial consultation which means on the first day of the lawyer working he went over the 1 hour limit and never let us know. At the end the bill was close to $800 when it should have been $225. I complained and they would only reduce it to $500, which in my mind is still extortion but I had no choice but to pay it. Stay away at all costs!!!!!
