Mr Mclaughlin is handling a traffic matter of mine and I am thrilled with his service. I was caught speeding. I was going rather fast, I must admit, and he didn’t blink an eye when I brought him my case. I was very nervous and he explained the possible outcomes of my case and I ended up with the outcome I was hoping for . His fees are quite reasonable, much less than I expected and I really couldn’t ask for anything less with the high quality of service I am receiving. I highly recommend Patrick Mclaughlin for any legal matter you might have, especially traffic or DWI. I’d give him 10 stars if it were possible. Thank you for handling my case and while I hope to never need an attorney again, I will definitely be calling Mr. McLaughlin if I do!
I had him assigned to me through Assigned counsel for a violations case. He never contacted me before the set trial date but he told a handwriting expert that he would ask for an adjournment so he could get her on the case. The judge calls my case and he ask the judge that and then asks for a closed door meeting. He comes out of the meeting with the prosecutor and judge and asks to be dismissed from the case. The judge tells me i can have one more lawyer assigned to me and then i would have to hire my own lawyer. As Patrick was walking out he mentioned something to the prosecutor about what sounded like 30 days and his next motion. That made me think he was going to complain about the speedy trial law applying to the almost 4 month old case. Instead he blames his wanting to be dismissed from the case on me and the judge agrees so the time can't be used against them in the ignored speedy trial law. This goes to show that all the hundreds of hours i spent gathering evidence is useless when they have their closed door meeting where you have no idea what happened is even legal. It doesn't look like trials mean anything unless you have the money to get a lawyer to do something which requires a lot of money. Assigned Counsel Department lawyers don't want to do anything except a last minute deal because they are not getting paid enough to make it worth their time. If you are poor and falsely accused of a crime don't expect any real defense from a Assigned Counsel Department lawyer like what happened with Patrick Mclaughlin. The person responding to my review could just be the same person who told me Patrick didn't have a client named "pongagt". She obviously didn't read my name that was clearly displayed on the bottom of the email message. QUOTE: "I'm not showing any clients by the name Pongagt. Direct quote from the handwriting expert i tried to get on my case. Please try and dispute that and the fact that Patrick requested a adjournment to get her on the case before he had the meeting and asked to be dismissed. Patrick never contacted me at all to discuss the trial and he never looked at any evidence. I have full documentation of our contacts. QUOTE "I had a phone message from your attorney when I came in this afternoon. I returned his call about 2:45p. He will work on authorization for me from Assign Counsel Program. He said court date is next week. Sounded to me like he might ask for more time for a court date." As far as my complaint getting dismissed, i have appealed and stated US BAR Association rules that i believe he was guilty of but does anyone expect anything to happen to him as a result of a poor person complaining against him. Maybe if you can hire him quick you can get a 30 day speedy trial motion to get your case dismissed.
Mr. Patrick did an amazing job with my crazy case. I moved from NY to NJ and thought that I had handled all transfers regarding my license and license plates diligently. Due to failure in communication from my insurance company to NYDMV that I had moved already to NJ triggered a driving suspension in NY for me. I only found out about the suspension while on a vacation to Niagara Falls and got pulled over in North Tonawanda. The police officers kept on mentioning to me that my driving privileges were revoked due to insurance lapse, but I had a valid up-to-date insurance. They were kind enough to let me go on my way and asked me to appear in court to fix the mess that I was apparently in. But, the tickets were "Aggravated Unlic Op 3rd (misd)" and ""Operating while registration suspended/revoked" I knew that I couldn't make the 8 hour trip back to North Tonawanda due to work obligations and hence started looking for attorneys to represent me. I found Mr. Patrick's information on Facebook and contacted him to see if he can help me in anyway. After a brief phone conversation in which he assured me that he can take care of this case, I paid for his services and hired him right away. Although we didn't communicate quite the way that I wanted, he did return my calls and assured me that everything is in order and he will make sure that the case goes smoothly. He understood that my anxiety levels were through the roof and the conversation calmed me down a lot. He contacted me right away after the court hearing and had knocked down the misdemeanor to a traffic ticket and asked me to pay it right away. I paid it through mailing in a money order to the court as they dont take over the phone payments or have online payment setup. Mr. Patrick and his staff did an amazing job in North Tonawanda and I will assure you that he will get the job done, silently, lol, but will get it done. Thanks Mr. Patrick for your service.
Patrick is an outstanding attorney and negotiator! He did a fine job regarding my boating while intoxicated charge. I do believe I was his first maritime case and Patrick came through with flying colors. Thank=you Patrick!!
We were on our honeymoon driving through to Vermont when I was stopped for speeding. We called Pat when we got home and he has spent the last couple of months helping me reduce the ticket to a parking ticket with 0 points. Even working with me from Indiana. He has been amazing. I would recommend him to anyone! Also, every one in his office deserves 5 stars as well.
