COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE!!! I tripped and fell over an improperly installed and maintained transition strip (that yellow bumpy mat installed where the sidewalk meets the road). It had pulled up enough for me to get my foot caught under it, trip and fall, causing a full thickness tear in my rotator cuff as well as other injuries.This law office had photographs of the transition strip before and after it was repaired, copies of the installation instructions from the manufacterer and a signed statement from me. But rather than simply tell the truth they sent a letter to the County claiming I tripped over a cracked or broken sidewalk, which is completely fabricated and absolutely untrue. The county used resouces to go to the scene and document that there were no cracked or broken sidewalks in the area that legally would be a trip hazzard. As a result of their investigation they circled the wagons and decided to vigorously defend this false claim. Mr. DeBerard withdrew as my attorney, I suspect he did so either because there would be no quick settlement outside of court because of his mistake or he hoped that by withdrawing he could hide his incompetence. I will be consulting a legal malpractice attorney. I imagine that as a result my name will be forever found in databases somewhere as someone who filed a false claim. I hope Martin County (It's my County too) demands restitution for the resources spent investigated this fabricated story. If you a need a Law firm find a good one don't settle for a hack.
