Mr. Reiner is the cousin of a man I was dating when I hired Reiner and then broke up with, so maybe that has some bearing on his treatment of my case, but I would say not, considering he disparaged my ex during the first meeting we had. He told me a bunch of stories about his successes (really the same three over and over), choked in front of my judge, dropped his notes and forgot documents, and then still, he kept building up my hopes. He promised me a good resolution to a hopeless case; I had admitted guilt and was trying to take back my words. At first, I tried to be smart. I gave him his fee in installments. When it became clear to me that nothing was being accomplished, I gave him the balance thinking He was tired of Me and never got another bit of actual work out of him. Just a few stalling text messages and meaningless promises. He has not yet admitted that he will do nothing for me and the last time I talked to him was more than a month ago. In that conversation, he vowed I’d have a document by the next day (that he had already admitted not having sent on schedule two times) while I offered him more money and expressed my displeasure at the endless delays. He wasn’t worth the fight, but more than that, he was never worth the money, trust, hope, or time. Your classic dishonest lawyer. I never got a document or another word from him.
