Mr. Rothman is a Godsend. I reached out to the firm under the implication that my husband and I had a copyright infringement case. In hindsight, this was far from the truth. He took the time to entertain my ignorance and he saved me a few thousand dollars. Prior to contacting Mr. Rothman, I was prepared to pay another attorney over $4400 hundred dollars not even realizing that I never had a case to begin with. There is certainly a need for copyright law and the legal experts that service this need, but despite what these folks likely tell themselves, that is not their business. They're all about the money grab. A single, improperly sourced image on a blog post without readership? You don't know how this happened or why, nor do you care. People of integrity lead with an email, or a cease and desist - these guys go straight for the money. Greedy opportunists, this isn't about fixing a mistake or justice, it's about an easy payday. This behavior has created a society wide litigation culture that is the absolute laughing stock of the world. The cost of all goods and services are increased, especially in healthcare, and the barrier to entry and liability for anyone struggling to start a business is made that much higher. Since dealing with this I've often wondered, who would invest their considerable intelligence, education, and their few days on earth in doing this "work"? Going after a mom and pop business in the corner of nowhere whose high school kid used a photo he shouldn't have - absolutely ridiculous. To this firm, employees, and clients - choose to have some integrity. If you're a miserable person, here is your first clue why: good and happy people don't even THINK about going down this road. That's how different our reality is from yours.
