This law firm screwed me so bad during my bankruptcy. Once I paid them the full amount of money they literally did the bare minimum. It's been going on 2 years since I started my bankruptcy and I haven't heard from them in probably 9 months. They don't return emails and just leave you to fend for yourself. Because of them I had to fix problems I was having with my car loan that was directly related to the case. Stay away from this place!

My attorney was never prepared. Melissa showed up to court and didn't even remember my name. She handed me a pen and paper and said write down what you want me to say and did nothing herself. Then she mailed me the wrong persons paperwork from the courts with one of her other clients personal information and all their case details which is a huge breach in client attorney privilege. I've never seen such a lack of professionalism in my life. Then during one of my two mediations over the internet her laptop died and she had no charger. The judge and everyone else had to wait while she called in on her phone. So of course it was dragged way on and half my second mediation was done with my attorney on a scratchy speaker phone you could barely hear. It was one mistake after another with her. Two mediations and a two hour hearing, She charged me $9000 and I still lost everything. The plaintiffs attorney did ten times more then Melissa and charged $6000 and flat out said that Melissa screwed me over bad. I can't speak for all the attorney's at this firm but do you research because she has a terrible track record. She's been fired numerous times by clients and puts in minimal effort and finds any way possible to keep charging you. I got bills months after I paid her off asking me for more saying she messed up her billing.

Everyone at Shankman & Associates is extremely personable, helpful, and right on task. I am thankful they helped me through the rough spot I was in and appreciate their professional support over the past year. If you need a lawyer, they are knowledgable and really great at what they do, I would not hesitate in using them for your legal needs.

I enlisted help from Lexington Law to help purge some of the outstanding stains on my credit report. Niel Shankman is one of Lexington Law's lawyers. I have seen a decrease of 57% in over 7 year old debts. I could have done the work myself but I'm very busy. He has done great work in the 2 months of his employ. I look forward to seeing more results soon. I will update my review accordingly if things keep moving as fluidly as they have been thus far.
