Bartolemé House is the Law School at the University of Sheffield. The grade II listed structure was built in 1881 as the Winter Street Hospital for Infectious Diseases, becoming a dedicated tuberculosis hospital in 1912, latee to become the St George's Hospital for elderly patients. It closed as a hospital in 1990, but reopened as the School of Nursing in 1997. In 2008, it was taken over as the School of Law.

My experience here was horrendous. I have a disability that on occasion can leave me prone to fatigue and infections so I was reliant on appropriate assignment extension in order to create a fair playing field. In the Autumn of my course I became very sick with a lung infection and requested an extension. I provided medical paperwork to corroborate the infection, diagnosis and my treatment for it. The so-called "Disability Officer" seemingly trashed this evidence and even refused to liaise with their own Disability and Dyslexia Service to look into how the infection had interacted with my disability to cause me to become very ill and thus disrupt my studies. Prior to becoming seriously sick I had planned to meet up with an academic tutor for advice on negotiating the course while unwell but they could not afford any time to help at any time or any day of the week. A part from having a Student Union with a good rating, this university has a bad rating in terms of its snooty attitude and unproductive help towards its students, especially if they are disabled.
